Yeah. Seen so many over the years. In some aircraft, like Rare Bear, it is just another day at the office. But lost prop governors are always spooky with that sudden over rev then nothing, and you know a soul is rapidly choosing among 3 runway choices as he trades speed for altitude. I saw Sherman Smoot lose one in in the Yak (Czech Mate).

    Thank you for the information!

I want to start taking lessons; there are a few guys at work who fly and one has offered to teach me for little more than the price of fuel. Just have to find time first.

To fly professionally, and I should have been clearer in my previous post, would require a huge life change or event, e.g. downstream goes to hell and we actually stop refining or divorce.

    One day.

    NM. Just looked it up.

This IS one of those times where you will want to kick your own self in the ass someday if you have FREE access to an aircraft & instructor and don't take the opportunity.

    But I get life happens.

Do it sooner than later, it'll only get more expensive and life will only become more complicated.

Ask away, myself (flight instructor, mechanic) and others here will be glad to help answer questions.

What are your plans in aviation? Who are you looking to work for after instruction?

Thanks for all the offers of help guys. I need to finish the house construction & closing before I can do anything. Kind of stuck in a holding pattern until then. :rimshot:When I see my coworker again I'll start asking for specifics and let y'all know.

While I don't instruct full time anymore, still keep the CFI active and instruct part time. After instructing I began ferrying airplanes and working as a contract pilot. Currently flying a Challenger 300 for a charter company.

There are some decent places to grab a bite in town. I have a courtesy car that I can loan out as well.
