"Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock you keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on THEIR CELL phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the cell phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your spare set to you, or paying to have the car unlocked. Distance is no object. You could be hundred of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other remote and a cell phone, you can unlock the doors/truck."

I found this a while back but haven't tried it yet. But there was just a thread about locking your keys in your truck and re-minded me of this. It states it works.

Is snowing here right now so im not up to trying it this moment, but would love to hear form anyone willing to give it a try.

But what do I know. If I whole my remote up to the button of my chin; I can unlock my door for like 30 feet longer if I didn't have it to my chin
