Does anyone else have an annoying vibration/ noise coming from the centre console area? It sounds like plastic on plastic. Any ideas?

Yes I do. It seems to happen most often when the engine is around 2k rpms. Under acceleration but will stay constant on rough roads. Another Tech and I were trying to pin point it yesterday. No luck, will try again this afternoon.

No luck. I was able to record it with my go pro while driving. Definitely coming from my passenger side seat area. When does yours make the noise?

I can rule out the passenger seat, door panel, center console and glovebox. It's either coming from under the carpet or near the blower box area. I will look into it a little more tonight and I'll let you know if I find anything.

Yeah I'm gonna try. Just recently bought the go pro. Trying to figure it all out and I gotta download the editing software and I'll try to load it up on my YouTube page. I'll post the link as soon as I get it up.

Hey Brobrady I'm unable to download the editing software. I'll get it uploaded as soon as just I can. For the time being if I get some free time at work tomorrow, if I find anything I'll keep you updated.

Hey guys not sure if this will help any or is the same rattle I had...but my rattle was coming from the center console too. I tried everything and finally realized it was the passenger seat bolster rattling against the center console. I placed a small piece of weatherstripping between the two and the rattle disappeared.

My truck has the unresolved gas pedal and steering wheel vibration too which is where the rattle stemmed from. Hopefully this helps. Good luck

I was trying to pin point it yesterday and i had my hand on the seat, moving it around to different areas and the noise was still occurring. I didn't drive the Tacoma today due to bad weather. Which will postpone me trying it out till at least Friday. 49tacoma, anyway you could upload the picture of where the bolster is making contact?

Cause its a brand new truck, even though my Infiniti is pretty immaculate. The truck gets dibs in the garage. Just waxed it the other day so its looking pretty good. The Infiniti was already dirty and needed a wash anyway.

Now come winter. That will be a different story. The infiniti gets put in storage and the truck will be my DD. The infiniti has some nice Bridgestone RE050a's on it and they become like rocks when it gets below 45 degrees.

My truck is covered in dry mud and dust. It cleans up fine when I want it clean. I bought mine to hunt and fish in but also have the reliability and creature comforts of a newer platform....well maybe reliability is in question after all of the trans fluid issues

I had a 04 nissan titan that was converted to a 2008 nissan titan underneath, built rear axle, tuned by uprev, full exhaust. It was a great driving vehicle, but then I went to French Lick Indiana for my first ever white tail hunt. Then the rear pinion bearing decided it didn't want to turn anymore. No cell phone service. Left me stranded 160 miles from home. Re-built the rear axle with new gears, yukon grizzly locker and all new bearings and seals. But i couldnt trust it anymore. Running premimum fuel with 12 mpg was horrible. It's amazing how stressfull it is driving a vehicle that has left you stranded before. Thats when I decided to get the Tacoma.

And now at least 9 tacomas across the country have had to have rear ends rebuilt, countless more are experiencing low diff and low trans fluid levels. Pretty sad state to see Toyota in being a long time Toyota owner myself.
