I mean used isn't my first choice.....but looks like a nice lid. I'd probably fit. My last helmet was an XL and it was tight. My current helmet is an XL and it is just a little bit loose. So i'd have to try it on to know if it would work.

I do want a street helmet next though, i know that much. This current helmet is just too loud.

I like it a lot, wearing it right now actually. My friend with the cb500f liked it enough that he bought one today after trying mine on.

Its a little warm but its already over 90°f here. It and my adv jacket made me start sweating pretty good earlier.

do you guys think i need one of those clutch levers that swing out so it doesn't break if I'm getting wrap around hand guards? will a standard lever still break with the guards?

If you have hand guards then I think you'd be fine with regular levers.

The issue with hand guards is that, unless you have them set up to where they mount to the triple clamps, they're just going to twist up when they hit the ground and let your levers hit the ground anyways.

I recommend getting the triple clamp mounts for whatever hand guards you get.

All of this helmet talk is reminding me that my HJC is turning 6 this year...

Probably time to look at replacing it.

Guess it depends on how high your risers are. I have risers and taller than stock bars and mine worked just fine.

I personally love my Zeta hand guards, but others like Acerbis, Cycra, Moose Racing, and Powermadd are just as good. Just Google motorcycle hand guards and pick your favorite design.

I use the Cycra CRM handguards with the BRP (Billet Racing Products) handlebar mounts and bar end mounts that tap into the handlebars on my WR450F. There is no twisting if you go down with these on your bike. BUT....if you go down hard enough you can bend the alum handguards. Depending on your desired outcome sometimes some give or twisting on your handguard mounts may be desireable. I like a very solid mount and with all the stuff already on your handlebars. I like the BRP handguard mounts where you dont have the additional center mounting clamps. While the Zeta mounts are nice that go on the triple tree, I dont like the interference and having to move the front brake cable loop (at least on the Yamaha WR450F).

I like Cyclebuy because you can buy the individual piece parts for cycra rather than buying the cycra handguard kits. I use the smaller enduro shields rather than the elephant ear looking shields. I also like to replace any damaged parts each year such as the black plastic end guards and even the replacement handguard bar only should one of those get damaged.

    I have both.

Because i've had the hand guards move and the levers bend

Do the type of bars I have make a difference? I have pro taper bars. Are they setup to attach a handguard or do I need to get something extra.

Edit: pretty sure I have the oversized bars. I don't have a cross bar. So I just need to find guards that will fit that bar right?

No. Just get levers that work for your bike. Bars don't effect anything.

You will need "fatbar" mounts if you have oversized bars for guards though

So long as you know what size they are. They're probably 7/8
