How do they look like gussets it's full 1/8" plate all the way down?

 

They are plating/thickening the outside of the frame rail versus a new plate to box the c-channel.

 

In the pic it doesn't look like its welded into an open C, the random holes make it look like they fit over frame rivets and its welded to the outside.

I have those on my truck, didn't pull the bed. Took maybe 45min to weld on. They made a HUGE difference in how the truck felt when turning and over bumps.

Edit: they are gussets not boxing plates. Still made a huge difference.
