Sigh... Need allpro skidplate tip.

Bought an allpro IFS skidplate for my 09 taco, and i was just wondering where should i bolt them. Seems like there are couple possible holes under the body. Should i just put it where the 2 original plates were? They used 8 bolts and the plate uses 6.

Just need someone to point the finger in the right direction Feel kinda stupid asking, but i don't want anything to go wrong.

 

Ok here is my problem. I figured out i needed to take out the bigger bolts under the tacoma, not the one holding the original plate, and bolt them on with the new plate. Problem is that the tacoma bolts are not long enough, am i right or wrong? Should i get longer bolts? Anyone who installed it can help me?

 

Yeah, I had that problem till I took the big bars off from under the stock plate.

unbolt the skid, unbolt the brackets that hold the skid, they are about 14 inches long.

After that you will see that the all pro skid can only be put in one place under there. As an install tip. I lifted the new skid with a jack, rolled it under and simply bolted it on since I did not have a buddy to help.

I got it installed with the help of a jack. I only removed the original 2 skid plates, i didn't remove any bars. Should i remove that bar your talking about? I only used the last two holes on the back side of the plate, not the front one, they didn't go anywhere logical.

It looks like it is installed fine to me

 

Sorry to bother you guys again. I just wanted to make sure that i need to remove that bar you guys are talking about. I find my skid plate a bit low, maybe that is the reason.

 

Definitely take both bars off.

I do have one more question. Just to be sure, do i use the original skid plates bolts for the 6 holes in the allpro plate?

 

Use what All pro sent you, you should not have to use any pieces from your truck if I remember right.

 

Ok one last question I removed the 2 bars, i only want to ask what do i do with the extra holes that held those 2 bars? Should i put the bolts back in, if i do won't that bother the plate?

Or should i just put bearing grease in the wholes?

I just left them the way they are and kept the extra bolts in a bag with the stock parts in case I even need them again.

It is your call. If you fill them make sure it is with something that will not harder over time.

 

I replace all but one bolt, which i used break lubricant (only stuff available at the time ) to fill it up. Now it sits perfectly and looks awesome ^^

are the all-pro skids just for 4x4?...dumb question, i know lol
