    OK

Suppose to snow some more today. This one took the wind out of my sails. I'm back in winter funk.
Not a happy camper. My intentions were to fish last weekend and they had a fishing tournament. All theboats showed up with snow on them. Well, you can have it. Suppose to be crappy all week. Just won't quit.
    Lol
I'm wondering if I put the snow blowers away if that would do anything to kickstart the weather.

    Oh hi Bob..

Believe me Mike, I thought about that already!
Been picking up branches and cleaning up downed parts of those trees for years.
I had talked to a guy about cutting them down and he could have the wood to sell for firewood, but he got injured so that's no longer on the table.
If I burned wood, those trees would have been the first contribution to the wood pile! :)

I'm sure you can find an insured person to take them down and remove it for the wood.

Even with all the rain where I live in N CA. I may have to water my lawn. At least I don't have to mow it yet. Heard my first lawn mower in town on Friday. Kind of like hearing the first Robins of the year. Expecting cooler weather later this week. I was out camping for the first time with the new truck, wish I could unhook the open door dingers, wanted to turn up the radio. :( Also gave it it's first small scratch, placing an old Coleman stove under the truck to keep dew off of the stove and got too close to the truck before lowering the stove. Good news, got my Mefo tires for my dual sport motorcycle, a KLR650. the Mefo's had good reviews and seem to last a long time. My new sliders and gas tank skid plate for the truck are supposed to be here on Friday from RCI Metalworks. Cried when I got my credit card bill for March, ouch! What with the truck parts and labor and parts to get the headlight fixed on my Civic before I sold it. Well, there were those old, rare stoves and parts I got also. :) I had to get my Federal Income taxes amended, that cost, the money I had to pay Uncle Sam back and the tax folks for figuring all that out for me. This retirement gig is getting expensive.

I've been collecting stoves the last 6 years, cooking over a fire is not always an option here in CA. Backpacking in the 70's and 80's, I used to cook over a small fire on my backpacking trips. A stove is a nicer option, no looking for firewood except in areas where firewood is plentiful and I stay cleaner. Many places I backpack into, they have removed the trout to allow frogs to come back. I had better luck fishing in Glacer NP in Montana last summer than I had in CA.

Think they have that backwards. Removing the frogs and adding trout sounds better.

The frogs were there first, trout were introduced by man. The Fish and Game say the fish are eating the tadpoles and frogs. The frogs are also dying off because of some fungus, some feel that can be introduced by fishermen dipping their lines all over and spreading the fungus. Many of my backpacking trips, fishing is my entertainment. It took a number of years for me to figure out why one year I saw dead fish all over the bottom of one lake I had hiked up to to fish. Humphries Basin out of Bishop, CA. Just that one lake. Puppet Lake or one in that area. Mean while, I have to pay a high price for a fishing license in CA and no guarantee I can fish where I'm going to.

Ever eat any frogs? I have eaten both frog legs and trout but the frogs were bull frogs. I am guessing the frogs in the lake may be a different species. Probably illegal to eat the frogs anyway.

I can remember in the mid 60's maybe, my dad and my moms cousins husband went out one time gigging frogs somewhere. Not many legs to share. The ones in the Sierra that are protected are small, the Yellow Legged frog. I've seen a few in my travels.

    Evening all:
The Fish and Game is right on trout eating frogs. Last year we had a trout with two leopard frogs in its stomach.
Was watching a video on U-tube, where trout were eating mice. People usually don't associate trout with eating stuff like that, but they do.
Up along the Delaware River they shut down the road on both sides of the river in the spring, reason being there's some type of toad that lives in the woods but must migrate to the water to breed. If they didn't close the road there would be a huge # of them killed while trying to cross the road to get to the river.
Someone was actually thinking on that one!

Put a new 84 month battery in the Tacoma today, bought it at a dealer for $99.95 + tax. The OEM battery was made by Johnson Control, the replacement battery is made by Exide. I would have rather had the Johnson Control batt., but they said those only come installed from the factory and the Exide's are standard OTC replacements. It does have the Toyota stickers on it, so I'm assuming what they were telling me was correct. :notsure:

Another thing to add: just got the safety recall for the rear springs. Looks like they will replace both sides with a whole new spring pack, just need to tell them to order them in, and they will call me to make an appointment to have them replaced.

So happy right now. Gonna get a tax refund for the first time in 25+ years! Of course I had to spend some to get it, but a good deal. Bought myself a photo voltaic system. My electricity bill went from an average of $200/month to $15 & some change. System should pay for itself in 5 years or less due to the tax credits. And I got those results during the winter months, when it's not as sunny, and using the AC regularly.

Had mine done when they did the frame(also the air bag spiral cable, trimming down the gas pedal, seat belt and software update). Haven't loaded the bed up since it was done so I can't tell if they are as good as the TSB springs I had put on 6 years ago. Some other TW members had cracked springs and didn't realize it until they put it in for the recall. As for the battery Carl, I was working in the parts dep't. at the Nissan dealer I drive for and they get there batteries from Interstate with the Nissan sticker on them. I think you can get your name on any battery if you pay:confused:.

:thumbsup::thumbsup: For saving money on the electric bill Cheech.

I would say you're probably right Ken, the first 100 group 24F's get ford labels, the next 100 get Nascar select labels, the next 100 get Toyota labels, etc.
I had multiple broken springs on my 95 Tacoma that I paid to have fixed, no recall there! :(
I told them to order the new springs, now just have to wait for them to come in and get an appointment for them to install them.

:woot: That's a big savings on the electric bill Cheech, and a tax refund is also good----well, maybe not, that just means you paid too much in! :bucket:
