I had shoveled all of the snow on my driveway from the big storm we had and piled it on the side of my house and forgot the hose rack was there when I backed up into it. Quickly remembered when I heard a *screech* and saw that. Surprisingly did no damage to the hose or rack, they should've made the fender out of whatever they made that thing out of!

Throw up a WTB thread for one, you never know when somebody is going LT with fiberglass fenders and has one for sale.

Kinda orthogonal to your problem but leaving a hose reel out in sub-freezing temperatures is not healthy for the hose or the reel. If you don't have anyplace to roll it inside, at least be sure to drain the bejeezus out of it before the freeze hits.

Anyone know what happens when you don't pay the full amount on the turnpike and go?

It's not something I planned to do. Here's what happened. My Mother-in-law was involved in a bad accident, hit a pole. On the turnpike. Luckily not hurt, but car was fucked. So I had to go pick her up where she was on the turnpike. I woke up the kids from nap, grabbed a 10 dollar bill I had for tolls and went where she was. As I pulled up to the first place to pay, it only takes $1's and $5. It was a $1.something. like 23 or something. That was to get on to get her. So I had the ten and had a few quarters that I keep in the truck. I used the quarters there. I had enough for that. Then got to her. Had to come back on the turnpike. This is where I was jammed up. She uses an easy pass. So she had no money on her. I pull up to pay. It was a $1.something again. Again I have that ten! And only 75 cents in quarters. So since no attendent and WTF else was I gonna do? I dropped in the the 75 cents and went. It's been a long time since I've traveled the turnpike. The times I do, I borrow my mom's easy pass. So had no idea it only took $1's and $5's.

So, anyone ever do that? Do I get a fine, or just a bill for the remainder? I know if I get a ticket, I'm going to fight it. I would hope a judge would understand my situation. :notsure:

I've run through the EZ Pass without my EZ Pass. Got a bill in the mail with a picture of my truck's ass about a month later. I called and explained and they were really cool. No charge.

Edit: No ticket, just a bill. You'll speak with someone at the turnpike commission when you call, not law enforcement.

Just what you owed or was there a fine also? I don't mind paying what I owe. I just didn't have it. :angrygirl:

Nice. Hope that's the case. Thanks! I'm not losing sleep over it or anything. Was just wondering. I didn't want to have to go through a whole thing.

It was a bill for the maximum amount plus a service charge of $25ish. I got off at Cranberry going west, the last exit, so it may have only been for the maximum because that's the last stop, I'm not sure. The total was $60-something.

Oh. Gotcha. Well being my total was only a dollar something and I paid some of it, I'd hope they'd only want to charge me the remainder. Wonder if they'll tack on the service charge for me. In that case I'd call. Otherwise if it's just what I owe, I don't mind. I guess I'll see. It is what it is. I didn't have much of a choice.

    Thanks again Brian.

My step dad just did that to me, I got a new tag and he transposed the letters and I got about 6 different notifications at once from the TP... I just got a bill, and a warning notice, each one was for around $65.00, once he called the TP and explained what happened, I got 6 more letters saying not to worry about any of them.... along with my own transponder.

I thought I remembered reading this:

    http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2015/11/02/investigation-hundreds-dont-pay-turnpike-tolls-each-day/

Basically, the Turnpike Commission is not affiliated with Penndot, so the only thing they can do is bill you "for a toll from the furthest point" and tack on an extra $25.00 for processing. If you don't pay after two notices, they send you to a collection agency.

Dave, my guess is you'll receive a bill + processing fee from the farthest point you could have entered the turnpike. So, if you were traveling east, they'll charge you as if you entered at Cranberry, and traveling west, they'll charge you from Valley Forge (I think that's the first in the east).

In my case, I was traveling west and I got off at Cranberry, so they charged me the full length of the TP.
