Anyone run Pro Comps UCA's with a 6" Pro Comp lift? Have a 2015 and they said they aren't sure if they work. Wondering if anyone has had any results.

Why wouldn't PC UCAs not work with a PC lift? Who didnt know?

Or did you call 4wp? Cause that would make sense.

Yeah I do work there lol. They are typically designed for levelled trucks. For instance the new Black Series coil overs only come in levelled heights with UCAs.

There is no reason why they would not work, the bid question you need to look into from PC is if their UCA's have the same geometry as OE or if they add caster. A lot of UCA's just duplicate OE specs so the only thing you gain is the uniball. A DB lift retains OE specs technically so if they are OE spec's it's fine, if they add caster it's even better because you will need less adjustment at the cam tabs.

...scary that the mechanics in your shop don't know this stuff ?

Well it wouldn't make any sense that the PC UCAs wouldnt work with their lifts. The UCA still bolts up the same and their design is almost identical to TC/ICON tubular uppers. The only thing that is unknown is if they add caster to them. This is a problem with DBs and getting alignments after installing. This is why heimed uppers are preferred or uppers that have caster built in.

Never said I didn't. I never asked them. Want real world experience, as we don't see a lot of Tacos here.

I would bet that a call to your corporate ProComp rep would get you everything you need. Shit you may even see some sales if you can tell these guys that the PC UCAs add caster.

Would the TC uppers have built in caster? I don't want heims because I hear they are shit in Canada because of all the road salt and elemental stress. Can someone back this up? Also does anyone like blacktacoma have 17" rims on the BDS kit? It is said that you can only have 18s. With the smaller rim, leafs, and upper control arms I may be pretty happy with this lift! And extended rear shocks of course. I realized that the BDS kit has a skid plate which sucks for clearance, but that plate actually is better because you hit and go over rocks and stuff, buddy with the fabtech may be in for a new crossmember!

@RadTaco914 did. BS is the main key to run 17" wheels on the DB lifts

Being it's a personal vehicle thing I tend to try to research off the clock, or nontime consuming, hense a quick post here. I will probably do so, they were ones who said that they haven't had anyone confirm or not yet.

I know one of the guys in our Bakersfield store runs Aftermarket 17s, but along with wheel spacers. Not sure about UCAs. I can confirm and follow up.

Called and was pretty blunt to say it would just be out of spec. We own Pro Comp so any rep is our rep haha.

Be out of spec? I would assume they mean alignment.

Those uppers have been out for a year. There was even an article awhile ago from a shop that was trying to build steam on sales of them. I would use Google on TW to find that article and that shop. Maybe they have installed them.

I know the article exists because I posted it in the MTBS thread and after it caused quite a stir.

Got to love TW for that.

Good luck man, but honestly if you have a stage II PC lift you need to look up my old thread called Need advice for a 6" PC lift or talk to Glueman or Blacktacoma. Both of these guys are still rocking DBs and made them pretty functional.

Youll only get advice to remove it from me and Jason though. :)

That doesn't make any sense really...out of spec ? It is either OE spec or it adds X degrees of caster and neither of those are a problem and they should know that stuff it's super basic product spec. ProComp's tech support is a little scary unless you talk to the actual guys down in a Chula Vista.
