That's my take on it. They probably make them in lots when demand is sufficient. Just enough to justify changing an assembly line over to manuals, then back again. If that's the case I don't see why ours wouldn't be in the same bunch.

My truck is finally "checked in" in Baja for its build. Curious to see how quick it goes from line to rail. They better fill that tranny up with fluid!

So it looks like the dealership I ordered my TRD OR 4x4 from has one in their current inventory that is waiting to be built. They just have to make some modifications to that current order to meet my specs and I should have my build date soon. *Crosses Everything*

Sealed it today. Got $1400 off msrp. I had the price list from this site with me, but this was the best they would do. I'm ok with it considering they could easily sell this for MSRP in no time. It's probly the only long bed off-road currently available in the area. They will be calling me tomorrow with the pick-up date.

Dealer is also checking the tranny fluid and fixing the hood adhesive compound at no charge (it was separated in multiple contact points - see post on hood vibration). I'll take care of the U-joints myself.

Without further ado... my new barcelona red ORDCLB TACO!

The wait is over! Picked up my truck yesterday from @TRDEVAN at Cabe toyota in Long Beach. Ordered 11/25 picked up 4/5. Very upfront and straight forward, not the greatest deal but not bad for SO Cal. 2016 TRD Off Road SB Super White.

Congrats man! Over five months? Did you order something completely out of the ordinary or encounter an issue with the dealer?

How do you track it like that? I asked my sales manager if there was a way to track it and he said not one that he knew of...

Once the VIN is created for the truck, it should be able to be tracked.

Called my dealer today and he said the truck will be built tomorrow. One day behind schedule. Got a VIN number of 3TMCZ5AN96M14A022, if anybody is willing to track my truck for me! :) Does anybody know of the estimated delivery time? I live in Anchorage Alaska. Tony (GM) at Kendall has been great.

Got my inferno OR today! I was going to buy a demo on a lot 6 hours away but when I heard my local dealer finally got an inferno in I jumped ship. The dealer where I was buying the demo had lied about my trade in value and the salesman that was working with me got fired. Anyway, it all worked out. The only pic I have for now. TRD wheels and tires go on tomorrow! image.jpg

Is the VIN tracker dealer-only or is it publicly accessible?

I am not sure, my dealer said once the vin was available he would contact me and sent the email with the build/ship info instead.

Back in February before I ordered my truck, one of the dealerships I was talking to found a DCLBOR in the color I wanted but it had the premium tech package and all the extra fancy b.s. I don't think is necessary in a truck. Now that I've been waiting 7 weeks and don't anticipate seeing my truck for at least another month I kind of wish I would have ponied up the extra cash and had the truck 2 months ago... waiting blows!

It was definitely a tough decision to make. I'm sure it'll all go away in May when my truck finally gets delivered.

Mine arrived this morning! It's already been through it's PDI (pre-delivery inspection) and I know for a fact that they didn't check any fluids. However, with April acting all stupid and dumping some snow and wintery conditions on us in Upstate NY this last week and for the coming days, I need to get my BMW M3 back off the road and need the truck to take over DD duties immediately.

I'll probably just check and adjust fluids myself if necessary, as well as grease my driveshaft. I'm sure the truck will be okay in the next few weeks with possible low trans. fluid and minimally greased u-joints.

No, nothing special, apparently the 4x4s especially off road were coming off the production line reeealy slowly... one month, there were only like 40 4x4 trucks allocated to 50 dealers in the region. @TRDEVAN said that they were supposed to increase production of the 4x4s second quarter this year so i hope everyone's wait times decrease! Side note.....the 2017s should be coming out in a quick minute.
