Congrats!! I picked up mine as well this past weekend, first gen 4x4 5speed. It's a good feeling :) Except I'm super paranoid some idiot is going to crash into me and ruin it...so I drive it like a little old lady, polar opposite of my last car haha.

    Beautiful double cab. Sooooo jealous....

I'm in the same boat, dream is a 4x4 double cab first gen. They are so damn hard to find around here (New Mexico). I need to just bite the bullet and fly up the Denver as soon as I see one I like.

    Congrats man.

Thank you! That's awesome! I'd love to pick up a manual Taco! Same here on the driving, I'm an offensive driver with my FR-S, but the second I got my Taco, I started driving like a grandma. By the way, is your name referencing Eon Blue Apocalypse by Tool??

I've been searching hard for about 2 years, putting my contact info and specs of the truck I'm looking for to all the dealerships around me. Everyone told me what I already knew, "HAHAAHA!! You'll never find that, you're looking for a uni-" "A unicorn, yes I know. But please just keep an eye out.". I looked all over cargurus, cars.com, autotrader, craigslist, etc. I found some really nice ones, but they either weren't white or they didn't have the diff locker or the leather or they were asking $15k for one with 200,xxx mi. It's all a game of waiting for the right one, hopefully you can find yours soon!

I'm liking it a lot, it definitely works as advertised lol. I was skeptical at first because I didn't like the idea of having to spend more on gas, but so far I haven't really noticed it decreasing my mileage much...I got 300 miles out of my first full tank and I was stepping on it quite a bit (I mean I had to...it's my first supercharger). I plan on babying the skinny pedal on the next tank to see how the mileage works out, but so far I'm really happy with it. Just have to spend an extra few bucks on premium gas when I fill up, but it's not that bad.

If you come across a good deal on one I'd say go for it

Yes, yes it is haha...not many people catch that!

Ok cool. I just worry if it would overheat, I'm a rural carrier and all the stop and go might not be the best.

Same thing around here: anything less than 150k miles goes for 16k+. I saw a 50k miles 1st gen sell for 21k within 2 days of posting on craigslist. Its crazy. At first I was dead set on a white double cab 4x4 TRD OR '04 w/ a tow hitch. I've whittled my demands down to any first gen 4x4 double cab. I've come within an inch of buying an access cab numerous times, but I haul my buddies around on snowboarding/hiking/camping trips too many times a year to get one. I needs that double cab, needs it!

I found mine with 25k miles on it at a Toyota dealership and they had it listed for $20k, I talked them down to $17k based on what KBB values them at...but private sales are a different story. First gens usually sell for a lot more in a private sale, at least out here on the west coast. Most of what I found being sold for privately were in the $15k range with 100 - 150k miles on them.

Especially for a clean first gen double cab, those are probably the highest sought after

I dunno if overheating is an issue with superchargers, unless you're red lining it constantly but even without a blower that would put you at risk of overheating. I think it's just a matter of being mindful of when to boost it and when not to, I do about 50/50 city and highway driving, and I live in LA so traffic is a nightmare at times.

Honestly if it didn't come with the s/c I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get one, unless I found one for a deal I couldn't turn down. 'cause they are pricey. But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun ;)

And I'm incredibly jealous you saw Tool live...I haven't yet and it's a matter of time before Maynard throws in the towel, lol. I did see APC live years ago, that was one hell of a show...

These hold their value so well! Brand new they were give or take $23-25K. I hear you on the space. I almost bought '95 and up Xtracab Tacos or '80-90s Pickups (Hilux), but for my job I need the space and usually Xtracabs are manual, and as much of a manual transmission nut that I am, I don't really like driving stick on a mail route.

17k$ for a 25k mile first gen... Saying that out loud noticeably increases my heart rate. I would do terrible, unforgivable things for a truck like that. Congrats, sir.
