Yelp works. Had issues with the dealer that went on for a month, made a Yelp
post about it, 2 hours later the owner replied to me Yelp post asking me to
contact them. Most of them monitor sites like that and do not want bad reviews up.

So I closed on my truck yesterday and the dealer agreed to do the tranny fluid check at no charge. The truck has barely been driven. I did notice very slight shifting delays when test driving the truck. I've seen several posts indicating it's starting to look like trucks with tow packages are the ones most impacted by this due to post production addition of the cooler, and not adding fluid to compensate for the additional space.

Does anyone know if you can get the fluid checked too soon? Does it take a while (driving) for the cooler to get filled up, and then reveal the low fluid level? Does the ECT button play into this? Is the cooler only active when ECT button is pushed? Or will it prime faster by using ECT?

So many people have reported various amounts of fluid levels from 1/2 up to 2 quarts low. I wonder if the cooler is not fully primed in some cases? This makes me wonder if the dealer checking the fluid so early is pointless.

When the transmission is filled , the air cooler gets pinned allowing the air cooler to fill with oil . As soon as you start the truck , the transmission pump begins circulating fluid through the transmission cooling system . The cooling system is filled immediately and will never empty out . The transmission needs to be filled properly before the truck is driven .
ECT will not prime the transmission cooling system any quicker

Mines at the second dealership today. Got to meet my tech before they even touched my truck. So I've got high hopes on this one.

At the first dealer, yesterday, I spoke with a tech who informed me that though I followed the right procedure, I was wrong. And he heat gunned the trans pan at the right temp, killed the engine, and fluid "poured" out the tube, so it's full. SMH. Not at all the right procedure. I pointed that out and it devolved into an "oh, like I just started yesterday, ok." Attitude. Goodbye Coggin Toyota of Jacksonville. Yeah, I'm looking at you.

This is why i suggest you print off the fill procedure for the technician to look at before you let them work on your truck .
When presenting the fill procedure to the technician , simply ask him if this is the procedure they will be using .
This way the technician doesnt look like a fool and you as the owner dont come off making the tech look like its his first day on the job .
There have been hundreds of reports that the technicians are doing the fill procedure incorrectly .
If you pass along the procedure politely , youve got a better chance of getting the job done correctly the first time
Engine must be running through entire process

Nope. Tech. I was so steamed that I left that dealer. No need to get crude or start pointing at him with my knife-hands.

I'll maintain it myself once Toyota finishes giving me all the parts of the truck I bought. See my previous post on this.

Dealer just called and said they checked the level and its normal and the hesitation going into gear is also normal. I'm about to call BS! I doubt they even checked the level... Waiting to see what the report says when I pick it up later today.

They told me it was low and topped it off. I will find out how low when I go pick it up.
