@Ag63i2 do you know of any outdoor areas to shoot distance? 500yds? I have a couple friends coming that want to test their ARs. Any grasslands nearby to do so?

I dont think any one near here is going to have past 200yd ranges. I would say go down to our land and shoot but thats a 2 1/2 hour drive

Yes sir, the most current spot that I can think of was not a flat 500 but we were able to reach it. there is a public shooting area just past metberry gulch and Deckers (if I remember right it is 11.7 miles south of deckers on your right) Only issue is you will have to be there early AF to get in to one of the good vallys/fingers that will reach 500. be sure to bring a range finder as well especially with the incline to set your papers

8 would probably be good, follow the "road" in and start looking at the areas for what you guys want, it's a pretty big area so you will have some good choices. Make sure you have trash bags and pick up though, park rangers and sheriff were there last year enforcing cuz it was getting fucked up
