Hey was just wondering if you got an update on that last shipment you sent.

 

Totally off topic...Just finished reading thru this thread and I know there were a few of you interested in joining the military and/or coast guard so here are my two cents:

1. First talk with as many folks as you can who are currently serving and ask about the type of work, duty locations, quality of life, etc and take your time choosing which service to join(Army, Navy, etc). It is literally going to be the most important choice in your career.

2. Then decide on what job you want within that branch of service (infantry, aviation, medical, logistics, etc).

3. Next research the duty locations for that service. Navy and Airforce typically have the nicer locations while the Army and Marines are hit and miss with some nice and some not so nice places.

Hopefully this will help you make a better informed decision. The last thing you want to do is get desperate and join on a whim. This usually results in a job you don't want. I will agree that it's better late than never but the sooner you join the better.

I joined the Army when I was 17 and have now been in for over 19 years. Currently stationed at Fort Knox KY and will be here for another year then it's time to move again. If you like to travel the military is great and I have been fortunate to visit many cool places and many hot places!

Have you ever though about flying helicopters? The Army has the largest flight school program in the world and I attended in 2001. Then I was fortunate to go back and teach flight school students flying Blackhawks from 2009-2012. If you have a desire to fly helicopters PM me and I will point you in the right direction.
