Longer Front Wheel Studs 95 Tacoma

I have the same problem the guy with the 05 Tacoma had; the front wheel studs are not long enough for my wheels and I am having a difficult time finding studs that are a quarter inch longer. Where do I get them I need 12. The rear fits just fine

 

I'd buy some Spidertrax wheel spacers

 

I think his wheels need to get CLOSER to the hubs, not farther...

 

well i think the spacers would work but there must be something different or wrong with the wheels

 

Maybe I'm misunderstanding here. The studs are too short, not allowing the lug nuts to thread properly, correct? Wouldn't adding a spacer, which moves the wheel even farther out, make the problem worse?

 

if the spacer works, attaches, the studs on the new spacer are longer and would attach to new modern wheels

 

The lug studs up front have to go through the hub and the rotor before going through the wheel, and while the lug nuts thread up and hold the wheel on (6000 miles I retorqued them to about 150 ft lbs after 100 miles) a quarter inch more thread would be desired just to make silly mechanics feel better.

The spidertrax would work however I am running 33/12.50R15's and I'd like to keep them in the fender wells so I don't have to get those goofy ass fender flares

See if they have what you need, I saw 12 X 1.5 in 70 and 74 mm in the splined type Post back if this works or not. I am assuming splined is what you need but they have threaded also. I am going to need longer studs also to allow a shim plate on my wheel hub instead of Spider Trax type of adapter

 

We have extended thread lug nuts that reach farther into the wheel to get a better bite on the studs. They may work for you.

150 lb/ft for lug nuts? Holy crap dude, that's a lot!! Toyota suggests about 80 lb/ft for their aluminum wheels. I'd go with red Loctite if you're that worried about it!

 

Ahh, I thought he was just using a spacer that fit over the studs between the inside of the rim and the hub.
