    I'll probably get some hate for this but each time I watch episodes 1-3 they grow on me a little more. The lightsaber fights in the prequels are probably the most epic in any of the movies. The shit that bugs me is that they look too shiny and new, whereas the originals, and even ep 7 are more gritty in feel and look. The political scenes drag a little but I like the prequels. Not as much as the originals or ep 7 but they're worth a watch for sure.

    Yeah, they're not that bad. The reason everyone hates on them is because they compare them to the original trilogy, which is like comparing a Toyota to a unicycle . They're great for backstory and the CGI is pretty impressive, but the actual plot and characters are pretty lame, IMO

    You spelled 'Forrest Gump' wrong

    Wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Everything I have seen indicates the originals were edited to make the extra content release that was put out. Aka the originals no longer exist.

    You can in theory pass on episode 1. I think I posted this a while back when TFA was still in theatres. My wife had never seen any and I watched them all with her (we are actually going to watch TFA tonight. That's the only one she hasn't seen yet now). I did some research before we watched the old ones to figure out the best way to watch as a complete newb. Most people said watch 4,5,6 and then 1,2,3 which is what we did but a lot of people said you can watch 4,5,2,3,6 and not miss anything from not seeing 1. They also broke it up like that between 5 and 6 so you still get the "I am your father" reveal at the end of 5 instead of learning it by watching Anakin become Darth Vader at the end of 3.

    I say watch them all. I like Jar Jar, and my wife liked him too, but if you really can't stand him you can skip 1 and not miss much. Darth Maul is pretty bad ass and Liam Neesan is the man, so that should be worth something too.

    There is like a 15 year gap between Anakin in ep 1 and Anakin in ep 2 too.

    I agree, the only one that isn't very good is episode 1 and it's still not that bad. Take out jar-jar and they'll all better. But I do love the light saber battles in them. Especially Darth Mauls :anonymous: and then in episode 3 between Darth Vader and obi-wan

    So much truth! Kinda sucked having the GF watch 1,2,3,4,5,6 and not have that holy shit! That's Lukes dad moment. Aw well still had a good time watching them. From now on total newbs should watch 4,5,6,1,2,3,7

    1 is good if you just completely ignore Jar Jar. 2 is about 3 hours of hayden christiansen whining with a fun lightsaber battle at the end. 3 is grest and the last scene of Hayden is his best acting to date. With his body chopped up and screaming (spoiler).

    I do that with most movies. They ruin them so much these days. I will only watch "teaser" trailers that are a minute or less. The "official" trailers that are 3+ min long I always avoid.

    I don't even like to go to theaters because I'm forced to watch the trailer for something else I don't want to spoil...

    I also recommend watching 4,5,6 then the prequels. Because if you want em 1-6, under the mask, its anakins bitch ass under there. Just isn't as badass after you seen them

    I would watch in this order. 4-6, some short clips of 1-3 on youtube or play them on Lego Starwars then 7. I don't feel the need to watch episodes 1-3
