I'll complain. I've owned the 3.5L 6 speed Camry and Venza, Camry was great, Venza was ok, Tacoma not so good. when you start off it's like it slips and then suddenly engages, it's constantly searching for a gear on the highway, if I set the cruise at 100-110 it will often down shift into 4th and stay there, other than that it does not shift smooth at all but it also doesn't have the tight shifts that the camry has. It shifts like a teenager learning to drive stick...

Drop bracket lift and N Fab running boards. So much badass there.

Let me guess, 95K price tag too

I'm told it can be built for around the $15,000 mark with all the adds.

That's about right. I've seen several dealers build similar trucks here though and price them in the 70-90K range, cough cough Cochrane Toyota cough.

I saw the "TRD Pro" knockoff at Lethbridge Toyota as well where they took an SR5 4Runner and made it look like a TRD Pro. They stuck a price tag over 60K on that and all that vehicle had was a few K in cosmetic upgrades...

Dealer prebuilds are literally about the worst value you can find out there if you don't do your homework. Not only do they try to get full retail off of every nut and bolt they added, but they then try to get double labour rates and markup on those parts as well.

A toyota mech told me the same thing...he expected a reprogram to come out next year once the bugs are worked out for next years models. He also told me they replaced an entire transmission for one guy because he wouldn't stop complaining, didn't change anything though.

From what I can understand so far anyone going from the previous generation to this one have been the ones that are complaining about the shifting. If you had a 2015 and older it had a 5 speed transmission that did not need to downshift from 5th to 4th gear when you approached a slight incline. With the new model I think the 6th gear is more of a higher speed highway gear so if you are travelling in that 90-100km/hour speed the truck drops to 5th gear to maintain your speed easier which of course raises the RPM's up to 3300-3600. Anyone that hasn't had the old generation model in my personal experience haven't complained about it at all.

This may or may not be 100% correct, just from the last 9 years with Toyota, it seems to be what I personally have noticed.

Easiest thing to do is contact me and I'll make sure you get a good deal and won't mark it up thousands of dollars on the aftermarket accessories. :)

So what you're saying is that we can order aftermarket parts through you and you'll give us the TW Canada treatment?

Like wheels, tires, and other accessories as well? Will you send them to BC for me??

    Hey Mike,
Have you guys been installing any Blistien 5100's on any TRD sports up there recently? Kinda curious what price that's running people for the front and back to get a slight lift and level achieved. Really considering this route.

We tried to put them into the new Tacoma but the rear shocks on the new Tacoma were longer than previous generation so we couldn't install them at the time.

    Accessories??

Seriously you should put a list together of Toyota parts you'll supply and their cost. I have no problem using the company DHL account to bring me truck goodies!!

It will drop to 4th, and then it wont change back once you are over the hill. I could be driving thru Manitoba on highway 1 and if i set the cruse it will drop into 5th and stay there.

I am 5'8" and find the roof too low - have a really hard time adjusting the seat to fit without my hair hitting the roof. I now drive slightly leaning to right. I Also find the running boards to be a problem because you can't use to get into or out of the truck so you have to step over them and that is hard...

Only complaints I have with my Taco!
