seems like lately the posts here on tw have been far from anything interesting (exception of a few threads). they all seem to be questions that have already been asked and researched. i know im guilty of asking questions that have answers. are we really to the point of not experiencing or coming up with new questions, idea, things to do to our trucks that differ from the hundreds of posts we have? looking at the home page there seems to be more off-topic discusson than technical chat, new things people are trying out for the trucks, or things of that nature.

its really getting bad... I just noticed this huge fuckin explosion of TRD Sport vs Offroad threads that came out no where, but yes 5100s thread are blown way the hell up too and theres a damn sticky about lifts that includes 5100s. Also, the prerunner vs 4x4, and the "do I really need UCAs" I know I'm new here but damn... people! learn how to search. I searched "sport" and "offroad" and found like 6 different threads within about 3 weeks to a month of each other... seriously

j/k on the 5100's btw, but since you asked... where you set them @ & how they ride? Santa is a little poor this year (he just bought a new tacoma to pull his sleigh) but maybe next year he'll deliver some billys for me.

    i dont :D

in all honesty tho i dont think it's an "issue"

TW is a different kind of community (not that left handed broken wrist kind of different...not that theres anything wrong with that) we have a very quick growing membership which consists of a lot of new to truck people...who may also be new to forums...they ask (to those of us whove been around awhile) dumb questions...

they may also be new to forums and not be familiar with the ability to search...or the knowhow

the overwhelming amount of OT stuff here tho goes to show...we like hanging out and BSing with each other (for the most part...minus the handful of DBs)

my personal solution is not only open threads like that when i'm either linked to them by someone...or when i feel like being helpful

if i dont feel like helping...i keep my ass in OT :D

there should be a thread with all the FAQ on it, that you have to go to as a new member, and click a button saying "I have read this thread"

    the bottom line is this

we are here as a community to help each other get the most out of our trucks...be it a peerunner...or a 4x4...or 1st or 2nd gen...or Xrunner...or even a few select 4runners or Silverados :p

many times new people dont know HOW to search...or even that they can...so they post up a new topic asking a legitimate (to them) question that to us seems completely worn out and beat to death

just roll with it and help the new folks out

On top of that...as is the nature of TW...we tend to sidetrack threads a LOT...which is part of why i love it here...an answer to a question can get buried like that...so sometimes...a search isnt too helpful and asking again may bring up a new answer to an old question...

^ haha like an intro to tacomaworld.com teach them how to utilize the search buttom, make then search for something...kinda like a startup for a new software. get them familiar with it before they jump right in! im totally bs'in and tigerfan i see what your saying and makes sense. its more than a place to get info and chat about our trucks, its an online community for people to hang out talk and whatnot.

honestly though, its a forum..... welcome the noobs, tell them how to search and be done with it. Now... when I see someone with 100 posts asking a noob question I tend to get a little ticked.

see i dont agree with the whole "SEARCH NOOB" posts etc

thats a quality that "other" forums have...and i like to think we're nicer than they are

now...if you were to say...answer theyre question...and politely explain...hey btw...i found this by clicking here and typing this and hitting enter...then cool
