I'll do a little more research later tonight and see if I can find more details about the injectors.

I hear ya, who knows if the fellow ran it long enough to stabilize or burn off any residual fuel or what. At least they seemed to "fit".

I know the AC compressors are different. Is there anyway to leave my AC compressor attached to the loop when I pull the motor or will I have to discharge the AC system and pull the compressor as well?

I always tie the AC compressor and PS pump out of the way in the engine bay. I leave both systems sealed. I usually use a piece of a coat hanger to secure the compressor and PS pump.

You can see the AC comp. & PS pump in the 1st pic secured out of the way when i did the swap. I didn't even unbolt the hood for engine removal & install. 2nd pic you can see the green bungee cord holding the wiring harness out of the way.

I remember them being a different color too. Wonder why they didn't work for him?

Cool, thanks for the info! I'm going to have to pull the hood because we have a chain host in the rafters of the garage but if I can get away with not having to disconnect the AC or PS that would be awesome.

    Thanks for weighing in

He was already having issues when he swapped injectors :notsure:

I can't really find much info online except for the fact that they have different part numbers and allegedly have different flow rates. Regardless they use the same connectors and are physically interchangeable

So far I've uncovered 2 main differences.

The upper intake manifold is different because the 2002 lacks vacuum fittings present on the 96. This is fine, you need to pull the upper intake to disconnect the harness before you can pull the motor. The FSM doesn't mention this

The exhaust crossover and collector are also different.

Hoping to get it dropped in today but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
