DO IT!! We all say that until we see it enough on the forum and give in. Might as well tear it off like a band-aid.

Haha, I did the same thing and took them off as soon as I got home from the dealership. If I had asked I am sure they would have removed it for me.

I'll know more in the morning. With the transmission warmed up things worked mostly fine. I'll update tomorrow.

I completely agree. Following the instructions says to mount the brackets first. It's nearly impossible to mount the bar if you do that. You are blindly trying to attach the screw while holding the bar level. It's much easier to attach it to one bracket first ( I did passenger side ) then securing it to the second bracket is seamless. Save yourself the back pain of bending over and the 100 cuts on your hand and arms. That's what I'm dealing with today!

Oh wait are these just MB352s in silver? I haven't found another wheel that has the nice silver contrast of the OEM like this. Did you go 16 or 17?

I did a Toytec top plate spacer, 5100s are a little overkill to level it an inch, plus they ride better, and despite what people say, no issues with a one inch spacer lift. You can put the mudguards on and won't have any rub with the tires, at least I didn't.

Let us know when you pin down the rub please. I am in no rush. If I know where yours rubs then I can calculate either a narrower rim or a different offset/backspacing. You need to find out yourself so you don't rub off rubber or create a bare spot on your chassis.

I asked them to remove it and they wouldn't budge...literally wasted $299.

Dang that stinks. It really wouldn't have taken them much effort, could have done it while they detailed it.

so you only did a 1 inch leveling kit? do you have pics of it and how level the truck is? I want to do a leveling kit but not sure how thick the spacer should be. I'm sure I can just measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel well to figure it out but if yours looks good I wouldn't need to.

I tried this method it didn't work too well. Trying to get the bolts on the led bar through the bracket was difficult my first try like fgotaco said and I actually lost my bolt in the bumper. So my second try I did this instead and it was extremely easy and I don't know why this isn't in the instructions. Seriously really easy. Just take off this additional black thin bar that's only held on by a couple small bolts and a few clips. The access to bolt on the led bar to the bracket was extremely easy without this bar there and it gave me plenty of room to work with. See the pics below. I borrowed these pics from someone else on TW since I didn't take the pics of my truck when I installed mine. Good luck and PM me if you need any help.

First post, new member. I have, however, been following this thread since it started. I took delivery of my Limited October 20th after having ordered it September 4th. It's my third Tacoma, I had two second gens prior. I love this truck, it's been so great in spite of the issues I've had in my nearly six months of ownership. It came with the factory tonneau cover, predator steps, and sill protectors from the assembly line.
    Upgrades:
Morimoto 5500k HID conversion from The Retrofit Source
    OEM exhaust tip
    Bed Step
OEM bed mat (perhaps the best thing I've done lol)
    OEM mud guards
    Front bed rail
    Tinted front windows to 35%
Replaced "all weather mats" with OEM all weather liners

Yup lost a bolt myself. Quick trip to home depot and figure out they are 6mm bolts. In case anyone else loses one.
