Hey, sorry if its been addressed already...

Regarding your suspension, what are your fronts set at and how are you liking it matched w/ your rear combo? I can't decide what I want to go w/ on the front for my rig. was wondering if you have any rake.
    Thanks!

It's a test in patience for sure, but soooooo worth it. How much longer do you have?

My suspension is far away from being dialed so I can't say much. The front is a bit underweight to be running 700's so the ride is rough. Once the winch, skids, and rack go on it should smooth out quite a bit. The rear follows suit, the AP Expos are stout as hell. Weight wise I have the canopy, pelfrey hc rear, swingout, and a full size spare. Still, she bucks around back there, but unloaded that's to be expected. With camping gear I should fall within the proper weight range, if that's not enough a few extra water jugs would do the trick. Regarding rake, I'm a full on blue stink beetle. Decided to deal with it until all the extra weight is figured. Then it's time to fuss with preload, get another alignment, and finally tune the DSC's.

    I feel ya brotha...

    Gear update:

This years REI dividends and some leftover christmas gift cards went towards a Camp Chef Everest stove. I've been using a jetboil for water and the campfire for everything else so it was time to upgrade. Smokey ash favored eggs in the morning no more!

Reviews looked great across the board but what got me is the kickass 20,000 BTU/hr, and that's per burner! No fancy marketing here, most stoves boast about their total 'combined' burner BTU/hr. This thing is a beast!

To save myself $ in the long run, reduce the need for disposable canisters, and for ease of use I've been looking into larger tanks. It was a balancing act of size vs weight and a simple equation which sold me on this tank. It's compact and easily mountable to the swingout with a Powertank C02 mount.

    Worthington 6lb aluminum tank.

To estimate how many meals I could cook with this tank I needed to find the total Propane Usage Time.

    The Variables:
    Amount of Propane: P = 6 lbs
    Heating Value of Propane: H = 21,600 BTU/LB
Maximum Heat Output of Grill: B = 20,000 BTU/hr (Single Burner)
    k
Factor: 0.74 (Single Burner, Medium Heat)

    To solve Propane Usage Time:
    T = (6lbs)(21600 BTU/LB)/(0.74)(20,000 BTU/hr) = 8.75 hrs

How many meals can be prepared: (Single burner, Medium heat)
8.75 hrs of gas / 30mins cooking time = 17.5 meals per tank
8.75 hrs of gas / 15mins cooking time = 35 meals per tank

If this checks out, a 6lb tank could possibly get me through a whole season of camping on one fill.
Yeah, the initial cost's aren't cheap but getting one sooner than later will set me up for the long haul.

Only nonsense and gibberish up in here

I figured, I keep looking at my stock rig and am getting ancy. The snow is melting and I just put on my MT/R's so I'm gonna have to lift soon!

Good choice on the stove, I almost went w/ the Rainier!

You and I both, can't wait to gtfo once that snow clears.

I almost went with the Rainier as well but figured the Everest was more versatile with two burners. It's easy enough to pack a griddle and get the best of both worlds.

Last weekend I finally decided to tackle the fenders.

With the advice of many folks a jigsaw was the right tool for the job. Figured I should probably own one so after a bit of research I opt for this Bosch 6.5amp with a pack of various blades.

Then... I learned the hard way there's two styles of blades.
    images_fee6f59aa7c875f69796dbec78ebf3fabaf8cd98.jpg
    images_68af0e4bf050a5de9720594f8e36249530520604.jpg

I was already at the shop, a few beers into work mode, and a tad peeved that I had the wrong blades so I tossed my hands in the air and grabbed the nibbler.

Then decided to freehand my troubles away...

The line sucks but that's what I get for being impatient, it'll be hidden away under the 'carefully' cut flares anyway.

With fenders cut it was time to graduate from mall crawling to loading dock crawling.

This was a dry run without any weight in the bed. Need to pack it with gear and test again to get the bumps sorted.

Haha thanks man, it's a bit of torture but my sights are set on getting many years of adventure outta this build. Shouldn't be too much longer until travel fuel costs compete with new parts/gear.

That's the plan at least... until I get an overwhelming itch for a crawlbox.... supercharger.... sas... :boom:

How bad did it scrub the shock body at stuff? Or do you have spacers?

No scrubbing on 3/4" spacers and had about just that much clearance at stuff. Aired down ill be close, should probably test that too. Also need to pound another 1/2" or so outta the firewall to get closer to full lock at stuff.

Broke my 10year not getting pulled over streak this morning for lacking mud flaps.
Luckily the officer had just moved from the south and gave me some slack due to her affinity to trucks.
Showed me the minimum I need to pass visual, said gorgeous truck, and let me go with a verbal warning.

They must have been in the mood to pull people over on small things, got pulled over first time in 5 years for no front plate, and the fact I have cover over the back plate and they couldn't read it. :(
