Out of the 3 wires for the socket, which one is ground? I am having a weird problem for my halos. With the parking lights on (engine not running) they are supposed to be white, and when the turn signal is on, they blink orange. And they work like that just as they should, but when i start the engine, when i turn the parking lights on, the halos no longer illuminute white, but illumintae amber, and blink in amber with the signal on.

Any tips? I checked the wires with a volt meter. Just want to make sure i have them wired correctly, need to know which color wire in the connector is groud for piece of mind. Thanks!

White with black stripe should be ground.

Anyone with halos have a clue why they go solid amber when the engine is started, and they are solid white as with the engine turned off?

Does it have something to do with the DRLs? 14-15 have a DRL switch,12-13's don't. It's controlled by the flasher relay box.

I dont think it has to do with the drls. Everything works fine with the engine off and just turning the parking lights on with power off the battery (solid white halos and blink amber when the turn signal is selected on)

Once the engine is started and i turn the parking lights on, they no longer illuminate solid white, but solid amber instead. Its the damndest thing.

Yeah, both the dtrl and blinkers are constantly on when the car is on. So basically, when the car is off, the turn signal wire is off, but blinks when blinkers are on. However, when the car is on, the turn signals are on also, but blinks off when the truck is on. I don't know why toyota did this.

I had the same problem, however the only way around it is to run a wire from your rear turn signals all the way up front for your switchback function. Unless you have the wire diagram and found a wire to tap into up front.

    Here's mine with switchback function

Also, my halos have a little black box with connectors on one end and 3 wires on the other end that needed to be spliced into the wires for the parking/drl/turn signal light (one for each halo) if that helps

Yessir. Just one "signal" wire each side and connect to the yellow wire upfront. The white halo one can stay where your dtrl wire is. As soon as your signal wire gets a voltage, amber will take over

I really appreciate your help man! How did you route the wire? Along the frame? Through the cab at some point? I have a long bed, so its going to be a lot of wire!
