LED headlight brands??

Anyone tried any LED headlights other then "bright ass leds "? That's the only brand I'd seen awhile back but wondered if any other good ones guys have tried

 

I got mine from vleds.com. Love them.

 

So you all get bright lighted any by on coming traffic? When I had the bright ass leds I got flashed all the time!! So I took them out and sold them

 

I get flashed a few times a year, at which point I blast the flasher with my Rigid Duallys.

 

Ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa just did that last week myself.

 

The only LED headlights that are actually made to correctly not blind oncoming drivers that I am aware of are the Philips H4s. Look like a high quality well designed product.

Pretty sure our trucks don't have CANBUS. Not sure about 2012-15 or 2016 though.

 

Thanks, I thought CANBUS was for those cars that can tell you if you have a bulb out. Either way, at least they are honest with the consumer that it may not be compatible.

 

Just bought these again. They are not LED's but HIDs. I had my first pair for about 5 years before they went out. 6000K is perfect. I get flashed once and a while but its always on a back road. Aimed them down a little and solved the "Flashing" problem.

You cannot get around glare/scatter by aiming them down. HIDs do not belong in a halogen reflector as the optics are wrong. Light escapes the beam pattern, above the horizon line, meaning your halogen reflectors cannot capture and focus all the light. Therefore any aiming down will still have light escape above the cutoff and into the eyes of oncoming drivers, while also reducing your down road visibility.

This is extremely easy to see when you point against a wall with your lights on. There should be a flat clean line with no light above it.

I don't use the actual HID bulbs all the time. The fixtures come with a halogen bulb also. Not nearly as strong as a standard bulb but still plenty of forward light. Saves others eyes when on those 2 lane back roads.
Its more a personal preference, to be a d**k and leave them on constantly or only use them when alone, and lots of light is needed!
