Well then we need to go at some point man!
Not a big fan. Kind of a ricer thing.

Also not a big fan of plastidipping. Sometimes it doesn't go right, usually user error, but when it doesn't its a pain to remove.

Only thing I'll plastidip on my rigs are emblems. Even then, I'd prefer to pull them off, repaint, and stick back on. The decals on the back of the 5th gen is hard to get off so I plastidipped. It's great to see what it will look like, pull it off, and actually paint though.

This summer I will be wheeling a lot. I'm taking a review course for the CPA exam and my girlfriend probably won't be around so I'm spending my weekends in the tent.

Granted it's going to be harder for you to do because 5th gens don't really end up in junkyards, but what I would do for when you want to paint it is try to get the emblems off another 4runner paint those and see how they turn out then you can go through the trouble of removing the old one. That's what I am doing with mine

The plastidip will hold for a while. I'll be okay :)

I rocked one on my 3rd gen for a while. Didn't hate it but liked the stock color better. image.jpg

I removed my front swaybar when I got my icon coilovers w/ 700lb springs and honestly didn't notice much of a difference. My wife always complained; never wanted to drive it.

After that I got icon coilovers w/ 650lbs, remote reservoirs, and CDC Valves and didn't THINK I noticed much difference. My wife always complained; never wanted to drive it.

Two days ago I re-installed my front swaybar with Energy Suspension extended end links and I could IMMEDIATELY tell a difference the second I pulled out of my neighborhood. So far I have not encountered a situation where it feels worse. Pretty counterintuitive, but even the ride feels better over beat up roads, speed bumps, etc. I'll have my wife drive it this weekend for the final review.

I'd like to measure how much travel I lost, but I am far too lazy for that.

I have seen people coil up a hanger in the tube so it won't collapse.

I plan on buying the bit next month. I will see what my schedule looks like, I am hoping I will have the 21st or the 21st and 22nd off.

The GF lives in Leadville, which is about 35 miles from BV. Round trip is 70 miles now :(

It definitely has a more "tippy" feel to it, but it isn't bad at all. I took both my front and rear off to get more flex out of the suspension. I drive mountain road with it and it never felt dangerous.

All of my springs are firmer than yours, my shocks are valved stiffer, and I likely have less lift (22.5 hub to fender in front, 23.5 hub to fender in rear). When I broke a mount on my rear sway bar (rendering it useless) the ride was absolutely terrifying on the freeway over about 60mph. When this happened my center of gravity was pretty low due to having just bumpers and skid plates at the time. I bet it would be even worse now with the spare tire on the back, and tent on the roof.

Maybe I am just a pussy, but I will never remove my rear sway bar again, and I will never recommend it to anyone that drives their 4Runner on the freeway.

I agree BV is much better. I am trying to get her to move down to BV, but it isn't working yet. I know you know where it is, just wanted to include the mileage for whatever reason lol. Leadville...the frozen tundra ugh lol

That reminds me once I get my bumper on I will have to do the hub to fender measurements. To me it isn't that terrifying to drive it, and I have had it up and over 60 mph. Hell the speed limit is 65 through some of the canyons between BV and Leadville it the 4Runner handles it like a champ. There is definitely some lean to it, but I never feel like it is going to roll over.

I am definitely thinking about saving up for an SC once I get the bumper done. I used to not like Salida, but I went their downtown area and it's pretty cool down there.

I have heard Whataburger is pretty damn good.

4th gens are a very different ride. My mom always said my 3rd gen drove like a truck and her 4th like a car. I've noticed the same even with both being stock suspension.
