The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

My DCSB OR 4X4 6MT is at the dealer. It took about 7 weeks from order date. I'm in the mountain region.

 

Oh man, I hope 7 weeks is more realistic. I was quoted 2.5 - 4 months for delivery! Put my order in 10 days ago for a DCSB OR 4x4 A/T... P&T pkg w JBL. I'm already going nuts. Hope my freaking beater holds up that long.

 

My 5 month plus wait finally ended today! And she fits in the garage! I named her Padmé.

 

I just placed my order and the dealer told me no more than 2 months. Just in time for me to get back stateside

 

Dealer called this morning to say my build date is now May 2nd, was April 28. I did get the VIN number though.

 

I'm now on the phone with Toyota Customer Service, and Toyota customer service is telling me all they can do is call the dealer and ask them to talk to GST. I was under the impression Toyota customer service will file a complaint on GST...

The customer service called my dealer twice and left voicemails to the sales managers and that was it. After that the lady was in a hurry to get me off the phone..

The dealer showed me exactly how many of which color / option packages were allocated by GST, and there were 0 in my configuration for the entire GST region. That is ridiculous. In fact, there were 10s, 20s, and 30s of Tacoma TRD ORs without HH package, but for anything with HH package, there were 2 Super whites for the entire GST, 3 Silvers, 4 MGMs, and 0 Blazing Blues. It's been 8 weeks since my order was placed by the dealer to GST, and no temp VIN / Build date yet.

Why in the world is GST dictating what customers demand? Or why is Toyota letting GST and the counterpart for the Southeast region even exist?

 

Lots of acronyms man.. what's the HH package? Tow pkg? Premium/Tech? Does not compute...

 

From what the inventory manager at my dealer said, at the end of the year, they're more concerned with selling through their committed inventory than placing custom orders. They may try to push you off until the 2017s come out. I placed an order in February, and they said it was close.

Placed and order for AC OR 4x4 in Barcelona Red with Tow/Premium Tech/Blk Tube Steps/Exhaust Tip two weeks ago. Build date is 4/27.

 

Two weeks!!! I placed my order today and they found my exact truck that a customer backed out on. Ordered four months ago! April 23rd the arrival date. TRD Sport Access Cab 4wd Auto Super White Tow Pkg but no Tech.

 

Those are allocation trucks. They were already coming and they just slapped your names on them. If it was truly special order (like manual transmission), you'd likely be waiting for 2017's.

 

Yeah, mine was found to be coming in so the dealer made some modifications to it. I don't think I could wait until the 2017's were available (unless they would be in by June...)

 

Ladies and gentlemen the Wombat has landed. My 5+ month wait is over.

 

That's all we get? Was it worth the wait? You and I will probably be the only 2 guys in Texas with this truck.

 

Absolutely love the truck it was totally worth the wait. According to my dealer mine is the first in this configuration to be delivered in Texas. 7545 Quicksand no tech, with tow package. It will rock out with its c#%k out above 3500 rpm. Love the 6 speed manual!

 

Exactly what I have on order. I'll probably be number 2. Mine arrives the 1st week of May. Can't wait.
