I bet it was a squirrel, wife didn't want to kill it so she took evasive maneuvers and killed the truck instead. That would be a good excuse anyway. Then I'd take the wife for a ride in the rental and show here how to run OVER a squirrel, bump bump... done. Any questions? Oh and my next truck is going to be a manual FTMFW. Hun, a squirrel is nothing but rat with a fancy tail, OK? Kill the mother f---ing rat next time god dammit.

I once dated a girl that told me she would do whatever she had to in order to avoid hitting a squirrel or other small animal while driving, including swerving at freeway speeds or slamming brakes. We didn't date for very long.

Yeah my ex-wife was like that too... would even try and grab the wheel if she was in the passenger seat to avoid road kill. At the end of the day, she's in the right place = not with me, FTMFW!

I'm not saying I try and kill animals with a truck, just saying I'm not going to endanger myself or passengers to avoid one. I will try and slow down, not going to swerve or lock the brakes unless its bear or moose. <--- moose got thru the front window for the decap ... that's going to be avoided.

Our made up stories are probably more interesting than what really happened anyways. She's probably an illegal alien without a drivers license and has never had any driving lessons. Target fixation and a case of the skinny pedal mash. Game over.

Do you need to know, or care?
My daughter totaled her mother's car one week after getting her driver's license, avoiding a cat on the road and slamming into a pole. She was ok, airbags saved her, but we sat down and had the talk about what is more important, her life or the cat's. Had it not been for the pole, she would have dropped 8 feet into a water filled ditch and the outcome might have been different.

Glad she is ok. My wife also wrecked my 1st Toyota truck, was still drivable so I sold her car, and made her drive the banged-up truck. Then I went out bought me a 72 FJ-40 that needed a new V8 motor. She has never wrecked another vehicle in over 20 years now.

Haha same here. Spent about 20 minutes til the end and nope, nothing. I also wanted to respond to the guy that asked where are the knee airbags at but I'm too lazy to go back and find his post... but seriously dude, where do you think they could be? Sometimes all you need is just a little bit of logic

Where I used to live the rats were so big and fat you could feel the bump when you hit one with your wheel. It was an expensive 'hood with lots of nourishing garbage (Mercer Island, Washington).

V1 AIR BAG COMPLETE DEPLOYMENTS.jpg It was a total loss. $38,000 in damage. $15,000 to replace the airbags and sensors. The only thing I grabbed off the truck was the floor mats.

I left out the story since whatever I type here doesn't go away. I will summarize. We came home from the casino late on Friday night. The wife decided to take the new truck for a spin, which she has never driven. I watched her leave the drive way, pick up speed quickly, she made a left turn in on to the main road (no stop sign, she was going about 35mph), on the gas. The road was slightly wet. The back end slid out on her. She corrected, but the traction control did as well. That caused the truck to actually go right. She went right about 3ft and the front right tire caught the curb, which immediately sucked the truck onto the sidewalk, across my neighbors strip of grass, and she slammed into the tree. All airbags deployed, I ran over there. She was in a daze, but ok. She walked home, 200' away. I had to put in 4wheel drive to get it off the tree. I drove it home- full throttle needed to keep it moving! Pulled it into the driveway and parked it. 3 mins later the cops came. We got lucky, they left, went to bed..... On a good note, picked up a new truck yesterday!IMG_1437.jpg
