Yea. Pa has a lot to explore. Tons of waterfalls and vistas. I've done a lot of backpacking throughout the state but up around worlds end is one of my favorite spots...(plus it's only about an hour drive. Haha)

Just an FYI it is technically on private property but it's a heavily used trail. Had a dcnr guy stop me once and inform me of this. Was pretty cool and didn't seem to mind that I was just back there hiking. (A lot of kids go back there and party/carry on) But while your there go check out this vista. It's right up the road from it...image.jpg

When I was about 12 yrs .old in N. Michigan we found a large skeleton ,thought it was a Dinosaur, turned out to be a Large Oxen but the Old Timers in the area had never heard of Oxen in the county. Maybe loggers in the early 1900's ?

Went for a walk in a nearby state forest and found this along the trail. Nothing else anywhere around except rock wall property boundaries. Not really sure how they would have gotten to this house because the trail is certainly more modern and climbs a hillside.

Then about a mile away close to what now are some farm fields we came across this makeshift dam that diverted water to a nearby pond.

Went to an Easter Egg hunt at a family friends home a County over today. After the festivities my curiosity of the area got the better of me so I took a little hike. Sure enough I found an old spring house. Based of the history of this particular area of Montgomery County I'd say it dates back to the late 1700's or early 1800's

No way I'd have seen this in the summer...

    Still an active spring...

I should have tried a video - there was a good trickle of water coming steadily in.

    Lockheed T-33 plane crash site.

According to the rumors, they were flying in bad weather, too slow/low while looking at property that one of the pilots recently purchased.

Yeah, its been there for quite some time, and the debris field is quite impressive... stuff is spread out all over the mountain and I didn't try and find the rest of it. Being up there, it would've been so expensive to try and haul it out, so it'll stay.

Yeah, slightly. I would like to have that engine as a kitchen table though. Throw a piece of glass on top. Oh yeah.

Went for a walk in the woods with my daughter while my son was at baseball practice and came across this structure.
    20160409_100643.jpg 20160409_100608.jpg 20160409_100459.jpg 20160409_100324.jpg 20160409_100146.jpg

Not a clue as to what the purpose of this structure was. Possibly a pump house of some kind. It currently resides in a swampy sort of area. Found some random pipes sticking up out of the ground about 20 yards away and a few little concrete foundations of some sort.

Also picked up a few ticks along the way. 2 on my daughter and 3 on me.

I was hunting shed antlers one time and found a huge dildo that had been used as a chew toy

It most likely was used in the woods before being abandoned. Then became a coyote's chew toy.
