If I'm wrong let me know, if I go with 5100's front and back with aal I can only run 265/70/17 tires and if I go with OME I can only run 265/70/17 tires so why should I spend the extra money for OME is the ride that much different. Keep in mind I don't want to loose my mudflaps but I would love to run 285's and I'm going with 17x9 wheels If this has already been asked I'm sorry I could not find it.

yes that is what I want to do but I thought you had to trim to run 285's so if I can only run 265's why spend the extra money on OME if 5100's will do the same thing,I don't mind spending it if I can run bigger tires I just really don't want to cutting on my truck to do it.

The ride isn't the same for one- The spring rates and utilization are different as is the operation of the shock valving.

The Toytec Ultimate kit costs more than the 5100s alone too...cause there is more to it than just the springs.

It's kind of your call-I'm really happy with my OME gear...Lots of folks are happy with their 5100s...

OME's will ride better and they resist heating/fading better than the 5100's.

oh really? have you ran them side by side on identical terrain? I have! My OME's were just warm, my 5100s on the back were so hot I couldnt even touch them!

I'm also running OME 885 coils with 5100 and aal in the back... rides a helluva lot better that 5100 with stock coils.... spring rates are different, when you use the stock springs with 5100 and lift it you raise the spring rate to WAY above the spring rate of the 885s... but ome complete lift is nice too

I think you'll find Chris4x4 might have some actual * measurements from OME and 5100s run on the same washboards, iirc.
