    What's funny is the guy I bought it from was telling me about some other people wanting the truck too. He was like "there was even one guy who said he wanted to turn it into a rock crawler!!!"

    OME 3" lift 881 coils, Dakar's 33" General Grabber AT2's TG low profile front bumper
    alright so I got my other aal on and both shocks. Ran around all day went to 4 different stores lookin for u bolts and no one had em besides pep boys but they only had one in stock. Might have to order some and put them on later but the stock ones fit fine so I'm not sure. Cleaned all the threads out and painted the u bolts and the lower shock mount/axle carrier thing.

    Also not sure if I should have but I put lock tite on the u bolt nuts because they are the old ones and I didn't want to risk anything. All that's left is the exhaust bracket and some other bracket which I believe is a brake line relocating thing? Then I'm done with the rear, gonna be doing the front end sometime this week when it's nicer out.

    Really happy with how it came out, got a total of 2.5" of lift, went from 36" from ground to top of wheel well to 38.5". Still gonna be sitting on stock tires and wheels for a couple months until I get my general grabbers but it doesn't look too bad. Rides kinda rough but nothing serious. Do you guys think I'll have any problems having just the rear end lifted for a couple days? Should be fine right? Didn't want to do the front end today because then I'd have to wait until Tuesday to do the alignment plus we didn't have much time after shopping around for u bolts all day.

    nope jungle flares. they did just use the screw holes on the inside of the wheel wells to attach to the truck but they were snug against the body. They did start to kinda rub/wear on hte paint from vibrations which pissed me off. i got them to protect the truck from rocks (which they did) but they caused a whole new problem too!
    maybe a similar issue would arise from using the 01-04 flares without the body clips
    jungle flares
    they were a lot bigger than stock flares both in width away from the body and overall coverage of hte body away from the wheel wells

    had them painted. they were black fiberglass when i got them
    did a little test fit as soon as they came in


    also, stock flares on dad's and jungle flares on mine.

    U-bolts really are single use items. The threads on them deform when They are torqued. New ones should be used whenever an add-a-leaf or new springs are added.

    thats funny you said this as i am with you on this but the guy at wheelers told me he reuses his all the time.... of course i bought new ones and didnt listen to him as thats how i was taught to always replace them but i found it funny is all..
