    After all that work...

The other day someone hit and ran me while the truck was parked on the street overnight. Same damn fender. Oh, and the bumper, flare, flare extension and drivers door are damaged this time around. I am leaving on a trip here tomorrow, so I figure I will let insurance deal with it when I get back home. This truck just has it in for me for some reason.

    Lets add this up:

    1. From day one it had an exhaust leak the dealerships(thats right, multiple dealerships) couldn't diagnose. I got tired of that, so i fixed it in front of the service advisor and viola; no more ticking coming from the passenger side of the exhaust. Twas the flange from the air pump.

    2. Brought truck in for clunk in steering or suspension twice. Third time I had the service advisor adjust the column as we drove through the lot; wheel separated.Towed truck back to shop. They called the next day saying a few bolts were loose and "it's ready to go!". I drove it home and called them saying the clunk was still there. Towed back to dealership. New diagnosis of "replace steering column". Call three days later saying it was fixed. Drove the truck and it felt better than new.

    3. Backing up and not paying attention(like an idiot) to the front end swing and gouged my fender into a dump skiff(documented repair above)

    4. 3 days ago some idiotic neighbor hit and ran. probably in excess of 4k worth of damage. This time Vee @ Charles Henry in SF will get the thrill of fixing her. Aw hell, I might just upgrade the front bumper to a Pelfreybilt.

    5. The rear spring load capacity on these trucks suck! Within a few weeks of buying itI had to add an add-a-leaf just to handle a campershell and two dogs. When its all loaded up for a camping trip I display the infamous "Taco Squat"...

All the while my wife is still trying to convince me to buy the Tundra so that I can have the tow capacity for an Airstream. Thats not my idea of camping. I test drove the Tundra and the power is nice but it is just too damn big. they scratched the hell out of the wheel which means I will more than likely get a replacement. Matching spare here i come!

I guess I just needed to vent

    Dang.

Hang in there. I have no extra parts otherwise I'd toss something your way.

Unless you need some TRD OR alloys.

Backpacked the Pine Ridge Trail to Sykes Hot Springs this past week. 22 miles of realizing how out of shape I am.

Spotted @Mademan925 on the 1 while on my way to Big Sur last Saturday. Trailer looks bad ass man!!!

I appreciate the offer and the sentiments.

I think my post was more of a rant than anything else. Parts wise I would love to find a flare, bumper and extension. Not sure if I would actually use the bumper or extension but it would be nice to have as a replacement...

Heading off to Aulani for our 5 year anniversary here in a few hours. Looking forward to a week of relaxation, sand in my hair, salt in my eyes, fins on my feet and a tasty beer or two!

I don't have the crash bar for the stock bumper but I have the white bumper skin with fog lights

I don't know if you want to stick with stock but if you do I have it

Wife got pulled over last week in Petaluma for "random smog test checkpoint" while driving the FJ.

I had never even heard of such a thing before this, I googled it and I guess they happen every so often. She was compliant, but kinda ruined her day as she had our daughter in the car and it made her miss her haircut appointment. I'm wondering if anyone else has been stopped for these and what your options are as far as declining? Any local LEO's or CHP in here care to chime in?

I'm not usually one to give the coppers a hard time, I mean I work hand in hand with y'all on a daily basis, essentially "same team" but this smog check thing seemed like a pretty big pile on nonsense...

On a good note the 'Cruiser passed with flying colors...
