    A few things
Me neither, worst I've ever been through was an abalone check point by fish and game. Pulled me, my wife and 6 month old daughter out of the truck and went through everything. I had legal limits and was compliant but just really surprised.

Still need to trim about 1/2". Pretty stoked with this bumper, but it doesn't line up with the fender. It was setup for trimmed fenders & no flares for 35's.
    image.jpg
Before I trim the fender and flare to match, anyone out there plan to go up to 35's and want to trade HC bumpers? Figured if someone planned to trim their HC bumper, this would save both of us some work. Preferably one with a swing out carrier, fold down table, dual Jerry can holder...;)

I think so too. And if you try and go around so you can make your destination on time, you'll end up with a ticket and being late.

They are annoying and inconvenient, but I'm a law-and-order type of guy, so I'm OK with it. My wife got stopped in her '92 Lexus here in Folsom a couple of weeks ago. Passed with flying colors !! :D I don't think they would do anything if you didn't pass, it may be just a survey to check on the honesty of nearby smog stations.

Another thought, think of it as a free smog check. If you had a problem that you weren't aware of, it would give you a heads up and time to take care of it, rather than finding out during the bi-annual smog check (usually $60) .

More shit then I ever planned on doing
My buddy says it has to do with them trying to figure out how to crack down on people registering vehicles in other counties that don't require smog.

I've declined the smog test. Then pulled over few miles down the road mysteriously. They found nothing but it was very annoying.

She said they waved her aside, then told her she was being selected at random for a smog test, which wouldn't be punitive if she failed. Then told her to hand over the keys while they drove it up on a dyno they had set up roadside. She sat in the back with our daughter while they ran the smog check, took about 15-20 min all told. My daughter was confused as all get out, but didn't freak out too bad.

When it was completed they sent her on her way, she asked what the results were, and the tech said he couldn't give the results but did say that it "passed very well for a 1990".

    And that was that.

Yeaaahh, after reading that link above, I would tell them No thank you. They can't force you to do a random smog test. And I would probably fail from no back cats :D,but that's besides the point.

Not sure how they can prove your primary residence isn't in the county of registration based on a roadside checkpoint.

How would they know for statistics?

Unless someone says I live in Solano but am registered in Mendocino? Not sure how it gathers any info on that.

If I'm missing something, which is possible.. LMK.

Know anyone who might have a use for some beat-down stock leaf springs complete with progressive AAL and overload? Springs are off a 2014, put them on my truck 6 months ago. Should be available for pickup Saturday afternoon. Free.
