I think you guys are missing the point of my story.
I found it funny watching someone trying to put a core back in with their fingers while the air was coming out.

Why the fuck would you put a core in with your fingers? What was used to remove it in the first place?

Lol I've dropped cores.. You can just put a cap on and it holds til you can get a spare out but it would be funny to try and put one in with fingers

Got a little more work done today. Got the old CV pulled out of the broke ADD
tube. I was able to reuse the snap rings but the bearing looked like it had seen better days. Also found out in addition to breaking the diff tube side shaft I broke where the outer snap ring rides and this put some undue stress on the bearing.

Pressed out the old bearing, it was an NSK.

New bearing is a Koyo, both were OEM parts.

Pressing in the new bearing, the 35mm axle socket works perfect along with the old bearing race to press the new one on

All assembled, just need to install the diff seal and then bolt it up, should be able to take care of that this week and I'll be back in business

We then worked on remounting @cynicalrider's bumper back on his new frame he got from the yota dealership. Frame horn extentions welded on

Welded on the inside as well

We then modified his skid row skidplate to work with the new crossmember we fabricated

For a first or second gen? Gotta see how your frame horns are setup. Original crossmember build here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-01-build-thread.290011/page-10#post-11222699

    And rebuild here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-01-build-thread.290011/page-15#post-12231718

Basically we found rectangular 1/4" wall tube that had inner dimensions similar to the frame ends. Then found a square tube that had inner dimensions similar to the extensions height. The square tube was cut in half to get the c-channel style piece you see. Top mounts are just angle welded on top.

    Thanks

We are getting ready to start a bumper build and im looking to tuck the front crossmember a bit to get some better approach angle. Ive been bugging Anthony here with questions after I saw his bumper reinforcment project.

    This shit is very helpful

Finished the swap today and she's road worthy again. The worst part was filling the diff back up with gear oil

Also found one of the tulip cups still hanging out, survived the whole drive back from Rausch sitting there LOL

Also found more carnage, found out that I snapped the axle shaft where it goes into the stub shaft as well, that thing is destroyed haha

Yep I was happy to see the damaged stopped at the stub shaft. Without an ARB in there I wonder if the ring gear or side gear would have went out on the front diff. The ARB is pretty damn stout, just have to be careful when to use it now, can't get myself in any more trouble like this again
