Got my truck detailed the other day even though it was going to rain and has been raining for the past few days. I really wanted to clay, polish, and apply some paint sealant on my own before she goes in storage, but that didn't happen. Instead, I went for some paint protection that would last longer so I got my truck coated with CS-II Ceramic Coating. I must say, when I picked up my truck, she looked wet and it wasn't even raining yet. Looks like she got a fresh coat of clear. This is just a pic from my iPhone and doesn't do it justice, but I'm happy and the coating should last several years.

Nothing fancy, yet. Weathertech mats front/back + their mud guards, some reflective striping and custom carpets on the storage bin lids underneath the jump seats.
I installed a quartet of Nakamichi NSE65 speakers ($59.99/pair) from Crutchfield this afternoon and couldn't be happier for the cost and effort involved.
As you can see in the 1st photo below, the factory door speakers leave a lot to be desired vs. the new ones.
For those unfamiliar with Crutchfield Audio, they provide harness adapters and ABS speaker adapters free with each pair of speakers you buy from them.
In my case, it saved me about $60 and everything shipped for free in two days.

Aside from trimming some two inch long screws down to 1.5" and removing some unneeded tabs on the adapters, the whole installation was plug and play.
They gave the difficulty rating a 1. I'd give the front doors a 1 and the rear doors a 2 or 3. Getting everything lined up on the access cab rear doors for reinstallation of the panels was a bit tricky. I didn't lose or booger-up any of the plastic fasteners, thankfully.
I got a much valued tip here on the forum about replacing the white plastic clips to the front sail panels before trying to reinstall them.
One look after you remove the panels and you can see why.
Going back on, the clips would otherwise just push through the holes and fall down into the door if you don't put them on the panel 1st. =)

The instructions you usually get from Crutchfield have photos, etc...
They haven't written up the master sheet for the 2016s yet. But, Deane D. at Crutchfield sent me these simple ones:

    Front
    1. Starting at top edge, pry off sail panel to release three (3) clips and remove sail panel.
    2. Remove one (1) center push pin clip by pushing in center, then prying out entire clip.
    3. Pry out screw cover behind door release handle and remove one (1) exposed Phillips screw.
    4. Remove felt screw cover inside door pull cup, then remove one (1) exposed Phillips screw.
    5. Starting at rear edge, pry up power switch panel to release two (2) clips, disconnect
    harnesses and remove switch panel.
    6. Pry out sides and bottom of door panel to release nine (9) clips, disconnect door lock/release
    assembly and remove door panel.
    7. Remove four (4) Phillips screws securing speaker to door steel, disconnect harness and
    remove speaker.
    Difficulty Rating: 1

    Rear
    1. Remove one (1) center push pin clip on top edge of door panel by pushing in center, then
    prying out entire clip.
    2. Remove one (1) Torx T-25 screw inside door pull cup, then remove door pull cup.
    3. Pry open screw cover behind door release handle and remove one (1) exposed Torx T-25
screw, then remove door release trim panel.
    4. Pry off lower seat belt anchor cover and remove one (1) 14mm bolt, then allow seat belt to hang.
    5. Pry all sides of door panel to release ten (10) clips and remove door panel.
    6. Remove three (3) Phillips screws securing speaker to door steel, disconnect harness and remove speaker.

So once you ditch the oem coils you need the trim packer to account for the taco lean on the driver's side correct?

FN Wheels and the center caps are OEM TRD, no modification required. You have the option to order the wheels with the TRD caps or the standard caps that come with the wheels.

How much does that run? I've heard good things and definitely want to get it done.

You would have to ask @AmericanRetrofits. I dropped them off to him showed him a picture of the trd pro headlights and asked for the halo as well. Id sent him an email or go to his instagram and send him a dm. He helps a lot and gets back quick.

mine came pre-assembled as well. makes life easier. if you're not replacing UCA's, you can just drop the LCA and drop the coil/strut.

That's what I'm going to do, getting 885s and the nitrochargers and dakars in the rear on my access cab, I shouldn't need upper control arms since it should only be about a 2 inch lift. Once I get all the stuff installed and get a alignment I'll see if upper control arms are necessary!

added a full size (18") spare tire- Nitto Grappler G2 285/65R18 tires on Mayhem Rampage 8090-8997MB18 rim- The tire just clears the exhaust pipe (about 1/2"). Dissappointed that the installer couldn't get the 2016 Tacoma to "read" the 5th wheel- stated that he called the local Toyota dealer and was told that 2016 Tacoma won't allow a 5th TPMS sensor- I plan on visiting the dealer tomorrow to see if this is true, as I want this 5th tire to be used in the tire rotation. Hi whopper, do you mind sharing how long and difficult it was to install these yourself? Did you have to remove the front seats?

So far it seems like you're the first self installer. I'm torn between clazzicos and katzskin. Leaning more towards katzskin cause they'll contour to the seats much better and only cost $100 more (if self installed ), but I have no upholstery experience.

    Thanks!

    On going
Took me about 4 and 1/2 hours hard part is the fronts because of the airbags and 30 hogrings in each seat take your time and with some finesse they are a great upgrade if you have basic mechanic skills you will do good I did take out the fronts and the rear seat makes it easier

Did you only replace the 4 speakers? Still have the factory head unit? Any amps?

I'd like a cheap method of getting better sound. I'm not wanting to take up any extra space for subs or amps... And would rather keep the factory head unit because it just cost too much to get one i like better.

But if just changing the speakers makes much improvement I'd go that route.

My alignment came out perfect without. I did have a little rubbing once I added wheel spacers though. I've since done a cab mount chop and trimmed my fender flares though.

if you plan on any wild off-roading, I'd look into some. but mild stuff, factory should do just fine.
