you do realize it is more about the "fraud" part and principle more than a failed unit, right? Go back a year before this shit and you will see that eotech is always suggested and used by many, obviously things will fail, that's the nature of the beast.

I am not saying he should choose an eotech over anything else, I am just saying many guys have admitted they are only sending back because they are getting free money.

just check out some of the forums and fb pages, post after post, reply after reply, guys are doing it for reasons like I stated. I paid $265 for mine brand new, I could get much more if I sent it back, but only based on principle.

the .gov is a tricky little thing, trust me, they also swap gun manufacturers and calibers from time to time.

Why the fuck would I argue with you if I had a faulty part? Fanboy? Not likely considering I've only owned 1 eotech. And I've owned several brands. I had a luepold but going SWFA, but would buy a Vortex if it was as good of a deal. No fanboy here. I also own 3 different brand uppers and lowers, triggers etc, no fanboy...so stop!

Ok you love your 512, but a PRO is a much better choice for a fighting rifle.

Actually if that's going to be you're argument, an Elcan Spectre DR is a better choice for a fighting rifle that's actually being used and abused in combat. Hopefully you know what that is.

Who cares people are going to run what they want. I have a T-1, a 552, and a vortex sparc II. the funny thing is that they all work! Guess what, my T-1 is on a matched billet receiver set. And my 552 is also on a billet upper receiver. My Father has a PRO on his matched billet rifle too. Are your eyes bleeding yet? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #dealwithit #yolo #hashtag

Seriously though don't get so worked up about it.

And @Gingerbeard Man is right. People are in fact returning them for free money.

Yes the Elcan is a great optic, and there are Aimpoints and other high end optics that superior to the Pro. But after the confirmed issues with Eotechs it is foolish to buy one, unless it is used a a range toy. My recommendation to purchase the PRO was the ,least expensive alternative to the EoTech, and the Pro is battle ready. The free money argument is not relevant to EoTech flaws and failure to accept EoTech defects is illogical.

I keep seeing battle ready. What battle?

I really need to have a talk with my eotech. I'm disappointed it hasn't failed me.

I live in NY too. My 552 hasn't suffered the same issue your 512 did. So I'm not inclined to get my free money yet since in not a douche. Would I buy another? That all depends. I do appreciate the BDC reticle and the the ability to use it over varying distances including 7yds.

Same. I mean if I'm really going to be fighting someone with it and I run into issues, I'll just take it off and throw it in my bag and use BUIS. Because that's what they're for.

Love my EoTech exps 2.2. I'm not going to get rid of it, but I am going to try an aimpoint micro T-1 or T-2 on another stick, curious to see how the view fields compare. I'd love to see an EOTech with no probs and Aimpoint battery life. Waiting on funds.
