I am going to be purchasing FUEL Lethal Wheels for my 2013 Off-Road 2WD Double Cab Tacoma, what would be an outstanding tire to go with that is not super loud but also looks great. My truck also has a 3" lift and level kit installed. I want to go up in size as well to add some more lift.

I've run nitto terra grapplers (not on a taco though). pretty aggressive look, but not to loud. (they hum a little on the highway, but with the windows up and the radio on you cant hear it.) not sure what size you would want with the lift though.

other suggestions (based off what ive read, haven't run these tires) bfg ko2, toyo open country a/t, nitto exo grappler, general grabber at2

I have the general grabber at2s and freakin love them. They're one of the most aggressive ATs in my opnion, and crazy cheap. I got mine for 600 shipped to my door from discounttiredirect.com. That was for 265/70r17s.

As far as size, I'd go 275/70r17 max. That's 32.16" diameter and 10.83" wide. A lot of people run 285/70r17, or "33s" and have to do a lot of trimming and the cab mount chop if you do any off roading. Those are 32.71" diameter and 11.22" wide.

Toyo Open Country M/T are aggressive looking and are pretty quiet.

@EatSleepTacos i am not going to be doing any serious off roading. the most would be driving at my hunting property which is mostly dirt and a few muddy spots. would the 285x70r17 terra grappler still be okay with 17x9 fuel lethals?

You'd probably rub, but I can't say for sure, since I've never personally ran 285s. From what I see on here though, people have to chop and hammer stuff regardless. It's typically more though if you plan on flexing and stuffing your wheels. If you have no problem with that, then I say go for it!

You may still be forces to do a cab mount chop and hammer the pinch weld. Can't say for sure. Do you mind cutting and chopping stuff up?

@EatSleepTacos i will not be installing them, the toyota dealership maintenance area will be so they will know what to do. how much does that affect the vehicle? I do not know exactly where you are talking about

So with tires that large on our trucks, they tend to rub on things. The two most common things are to the rear of the wheel well. One is the body mount, which needs to be chopped back, and the other is the pinch weld which has to be hammered back and sealed up.

Not too many companies make that size so your choices are limited. My friend has the cooper stt pro and loves them. They're 200 a piece on discounttiredirect
