I used to go to Proctor Valley road but i saw too many sheriffs out there..

I went through the Otay Mountain Truck trail yesterday afternoon. There is still an entrance to it by the donovan state prison. It's actually before the prison but pretty close. There is a small cafe or something, the entrance is just behind it. So we started off at about 4:45 and went all the way to the Otal Lakes exit. Then we went back into the trail until the junction that either takes you back to Otay or towards Delzura. I had never taken the trail all the way till the Delzura exit so we did. After that, we decided to take the trail back home instead of the freeway... The Otay truck trail is not a rough trail at all. Most of it is hard packed. Very nice scenery and it's close to home but feels miles away...

There is land at the end of the 905 where i go ride my quad (right next to the border). I have never taken any of the trails around there with my truck because i don't want to tick off the border patrol.

I went on Sunday but saw too many "No Tresspassing" signs up. I've heard of people taking Dirt bikes there but why would the BP mess with trucks and not quad or dirt bikes??

Well i just figure since it's so close to the border (literally next to the border fence) they might trip that you're there to pick up illegals. Since you can't fit any illegals into a quad or bike, they shouldn't trip as much. I don't think they'll trip all that much. If anything, they'll just stop you and ask to look inside the vehicle for illegals. They probably don't care about quads and dirtbikes but when a vehicle is off roadin in the area where "No trespassing" signs are posted, i would think it would bother them some.

People go ride their bikes/quads at the end of the 905 all the time(where the stop sign is that if you go left takes you to Donovan). I go ride sometimes. Just don't get close to the power plant or w/e that place is. Those people don't like when people get close. They will call the PD...and you can get a fine for trespassing. That's what happened once. The BP went to every1 riding out there and told them that they heard the call over the radio. They said we should leave b4 the PD showed up to avoid tix.

Sunday was my 1st time there...I just wanted to explore. From what I saw there looks to be some really sweet trails with plenty of mud to go around. I really considering on going back and cruising around. Lets say the BP do stop ya and check your truck and finds nothing what then...

There are some pretty sick trails. I just havent explored very far because of my concern pissing off the BP. They probably won't even get pissed off but they are there doing there job and i don't want to be distracting them.

While on the Otay Mtn truck trail, you will run into BP so don't haul ass. You won't want to haul ass anyways, because the road is very narrow (only space for one vehicle in most sections) and if you go off the trail, it's a VERY long steep fall down the entire mtn.

From the few times i've been stopped by BP in either the trail or on the open area just at the end of the 905, they just make sure you are a US citizen and you don't have anybody in the car that isn't. Then you go on your way. They have never asked me to leave, threatened to call PD, No fines or anything like that.

If you come down to check out some trails let me know. I live right by the 905 less than 10 mins away from there. I'd be down to go explore.

I had the biggest smile! :D So happy ending guys! Truck is safe at home again!

Good to hear tony. Man it sucked that day knowing we had to leave the truck up there.

I think I will go Xmas weekend with a few people. This weekend I am planning on going to Cleghorn if anyone from SD wants to join me. I will make a thread. CB RADIOS are required to make this trip...no exceptions. There will be other guidelines once I make the thread.

TONY !!!! Glad to here you were able to "Drive" your Toy without assistance ( I knew ya would when things dried out a bit) Clay is funny shit , not only does it "suck" your vehicle down but it also allows sliping & sliding all over hell, yeah that little trail is the real deal for an "Ass stuck to the seat" Kind of challenge, just remember in that kind of stuff (mud, clay, whatever) once you get a little bite & forward motion you need to pretty much floor it & don't let up til your on level ground again or at least past the worst of the shit, glad you & your baby are reunited again........:D:cool::yay:
