Don's the man! That's why I go to him for any type of sound deadening that I need. Most guys would sell you the most they can for your install; Don however will make sure you use the PROPER deadening tool in moderation to get the best results :D

I did my regular cab, search my name and you'll find the thread about what installed.

Not sure what the first part means, just thought it was funny. Not sure everyone knows you list yourself as sponsored by Second Skin on another forum and are running Second Skin sanctioned promotional give-a-ways on yet another. There's nothing wrong with any of that, but when we get away from discussing fundamentals and specific Tacoma applications and start cheering for one product or another, I think it's useful to have all cards on the table.

My intention was to lay out some principles in a thread dealing with sound deadening basics. Toward this end I described the characteristics that make a good constrained layer vibration damper. I'm more than happy to stipulate that Second Skin has products that meet those standards, as do Cascade and Dynamic Control. RAAMaudio BXT II does as well and I'm sure there are others.

The advantage of a vehicle specific forum like this is the knowledge base that can be built up with the problems encountered and solved by members. I've worked with a few different user groups and the treatments get better and easier as you go along. It's much less about selling any particular product line than it is about finding what works.

The first part meant as in..."covert ops" :D

I will say I am happy you are part of the forums and I think we can all learn from your experience. I myself have a Tacoma and I should get off my lazy butt and do a write up myself. As for the give-aways, I would love to see more people donate to my SPCA...including yourself. ;) I hold no grudges against one product or another, you wont find me bashing anyone's product. I may state I like one product over another for reason A or B.

With that I again think we are ALL forunate to have you on the forum, and we'll all learn from your knowledge.

I just got done installing 22 Squares of Raamat BXT II on all 4 doors.
I might have overdid it a little but that Sound deadening Stuff is Addicting!

I only have 3 Squares left to do the Back Wall, Back Floor, and Back Wall Sides.

R there any promotional pieces (Read FREE) available...?

Who's gonna help a brotha out

    :D:p

Ok, so my friend was going to be helping me and he couldn't today. We're meeting up tomorrow afternoon to get stuff going. I don't know how much we'll get done but it should be decent regardless. We'll be working on the substage mostly.

I personally have misjudged Don on DIYMA, and apologized for my outbursts then. I wish I could change it, but I feel I have made amends. I am loyal to Second Skin, no doubt, but competition is normally a good thing, and I hope Don does well with his products. He is definitely an authority on the subject, like Ant. I wish much success to both companies!!!!!!!!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I finally installed the drivers side door panel back on yesterday. The sound upgrade is complete.

One thing is for sure, I will be adding sound deadener to the rear door and the back if the cab. I hear no outside noise through the front door. I do here some from the rear of the cab.

I dont know what happened on DIYMA with you. This has been bothering me though. I have no doubt Don has a top notch product and customer service. I have never given anyone any grief about product A or B. I eill say I will voice my "humble" opinion at times but I truly believe these two companies make the best of the best!...does it get better than the best? Don, if you have been offended for one reason or another it was not intentional.

Guys, everything is fine. The back story to this has taken up hundreds of posts on other forums and there is no reason to bring it here. I'm not offended. The only issue should be helping the members here understand how they should be addressing their noise and acoustics issues.

I could use a helping hand in the spring when I sound proof the rear of the Tacoma. LOL

I hear ya. The Drama is best left to other forums.

I have found that the forums associated with the sellers of the sound deadening material really do give helpful advice to Noob's on how to install their products.
