BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Pulled out of a spot (face out) and a parking lot ninja came around a blind corner doing oh I'll say 19-21 mph and had to slam on it's brakes to not hit me. I thought it was 5mph in a parking lot but I guess it's not. Over 15 mph in a parking lot and the driver should be pulled from their vehicle and ass raped by a rabid camel. and don't get me started on the corner cutters slaloming through businesses at major intersections.

The last time I went to BK for some breakfast I was pretty pissed that they messed up my order (gave me blue berry muffin bites instead of cini minis, and my coffee smelled/tasted like 'fish'- went through the drive-Thru and of course, discovered only when I got home). Can't imagine how I'd react if a guy backed into my new truck in the parking lot. Sorry man :/
At the end of the day, material things can be replaced / repaired. Glad it wasn't too serious and you guys/gals are ok.

OP, sorry about the damage to your truck. Hopefully the repairs aren't too bad or will take too long.

Dude no Taco deserves this kind of beating, if someone hit my '04 like this they'd be dead in a way that would put me in jail for more than one life sentence...

(before any of you dudley do-gooders chime in about how 1st degree murder over a first gen tacoma isn't the right thing to do, I'm obviously joking. But I would daydream about doing it. Oh, would I ever daydream...)

Mother of God that thing is huge

I'd say double bag just bought you a new front aftermarket bumper lift kit and fixed your truck.

Sorry to hear. It would make me sick to hurt my new truck

Sorry to the OP that sucks really bad. I'm not trying to get you upset or cause you more pain but I think that damage might be a little worse than you and others think. when they start peeling off the sheet-metal there might be some pretty severe damage. I believe the frame and suspension components were compromised. That could end up being a major fix which would impact the Carfax report this might turn out to be a very big deal

I edited the post to correct the language where I mentioned that I hit him. A couple of posters have noted the contradiction, so I felt the need to explain further.

The driver in the parking space backed out and hit my truck as I was driving in a parking lot driving lane, in the proper direction, at a speed I feel was appropriate for the area. It might not have been ten miles per hour, that's why I said "around ten...".

The vehicles made contact at the exact same time, so his vehicle hit mine, and mine hit his. I wasn't operating negligently, and he was by not being aware of his surroundings. I had no time to react, his vehicle hit mine on the wheel-well/quarter panel, not on the front of my vehicle. I didn't run into to him, he ran into me as i was passing behind him.

Also, anyone can watch for smoking tailpipes and reverse lights in parking lots, but that does nothing if the guy operating the offending vehicle decides to reverse into another vehicle at his choosing, while it is passing behind him.

According to the police report, the driver admitted that he "...backed out and struck..." my vehicle.

I hope this language is much more appropriate and accurate.

Actually had it towed to the dealership, for fear of tearing something else up.

Not sure of the actual speed...I certainly don't consider ten mph too fast, i just guessed it was around that speed.
