I know someone out there has used this wasted space before. My new off road light switch should be coming in next week and I want to put it in the blank next to the fog light switch. I stuck the temporary switch on the bottom row because I could not get behind the other blanks where the fog light switch is. How do you access this area? Does it require disassembly of the dash to get to it? Thanks!! 20160411_113846.jpg

There's 2 bolts on either side of the lower dash panel, one by the door and the other behind the little pocket on the right side of the wheel, next to the radio/HVAC panel.

Pull those 2 bolts (10mm IIRC) and the lower panel will pop down and allow you to get into the fog light area.

Nah, you can reach behind it and gently push it out with a screwdriver I believe. You could try prying from outside but I wouldn't.

That bottom part (light gray) can be taken down quite easily. Bunch of machine screws holding it in. Then you can get behind there easily.

10mm is the size of choice for many of the bolts in the truck.

Yeah I popped out the one where my temporary switch is at now and it was very easy but i'd like to keep my lighting switches on the same row if possible.

Thanks man, I figured it would require removing something to get to it but didn't know if someone had found an easier way around it. lol. I'll have to give her a try this evening.

If you get time...that would be a big help. I'm a visual learner haha. If you don't find time though it's cool, i'm sure I can locate them if I look harder lol.

You guys recommend anyone to purchase switches from? I like the stock look so I went with the Toyota style switch that says Off Road Lights on it. Only thing is... it's coming from China...:(. I ordered it about a month ago for 12 dollars off of Amazon and it is still about a week out.

    mictuning

Check where you order it from. @Bentrodder ordered a switch from them and it came from China, took 2 weeks or something. I ordered the same switch from a different vendor and had it in 2 days with Amazon Prime. Both ordered from Amazon.

Just pop out that little storage sloth thing that hides the fuses inside the cab and reach up and pop it out. Easiest way that's what I did and keep in mind I have short arms stubby arms and it was still easy. Hahaha

I did run across these guys before I ordered the one from Amazon. I like them but ended up going with the others just to get the factory look. I kinda wished I would have went with them...I'd probably already have the switch by now. One thing I didn't like about them though is the LED color choices on the switches are limited to red blue green. I wanted to keep the same white backlight on them also.

I did remove that little cubby to access the lower section but I couldn't get my hands up behind the top row and I have long skinny arms haha.

So you do have to pull the plastic trim along the door jamb to get to the first bolt. Just start on one end and pull it gently all the way across. Then remove the trim at the kick panel to get to the bolt.

Then the right side bolt is located here, under a small cover.
