Thanks. Looks like I have some studying to do. The midland is a handheld, but I'm adding the magnetic antenna for better reception.

Hand helds are basically the same just smaller, still need to make sure swr is right if using an external antenna. The antenna may be spot on out the box, but it pays to be sure before you go out and no one can hear you transmit, or it cooks your radio.

@BDub I have a SWR but I obviously need it. I can send you my old mag mount Lil Will that is great and it would be free... If you want. It's just taking up space here.

I think you've misunderstood. Since technically that's a midsize SUV then it's a big penis compensation. Just like with a Tacoma. If it's full size truck SUV then it's small penis compensation.

I haven't seen very many of those if any, until now, actually set up to go offroad. My friend had a stock H3, and he asked me to back his boat trailer down to the ramp, and man those things are like blind spot city! The windows are so small, it is very hard to see out of them!

No one has thoughts on a bumper? I know it ain't a Taco but it's close enough. I liked Pelfrey but $2k is too much. I looked at every other vendor listed on TW and nothing blew my skirt up.

Also. ...painted? Line X? Powder coat?

Probably going to do Southern Style Sled Speed hybrid if no one has a better suggestion.

Having it powder coated relieves you of several hours of prep and paint.

Get the style you like, that's what is important. I don't know if any vendors bumper would perform better or worse compared to each other.

@BDub I have an swr meter you can use, I still need to fine tune mine as well but my radio does it internally pretty good but I wanted to triple check it.

@MeefZah I don't know what kind of styles are available for that gen 4runner, you show me pictures and I'll pick for you. But I vote powder coated even though I'm too cheap to do that myself. I just rattle can my bare metal stuff, easy touch up. :D
