Sounds like this will be next on the list. Along with some cv boots.

That's what I was thinking about just going with. My truck has 320000 miles on it so I figured they might need a replacement.

Ya I haven't forgotten about the mod day, I'll work on getting a day planned out and a thread going on that. It's a little prejudice but I'm thinking 1st gen only

Got my roof basket installed last night. I was only up til midnight lol I had to mod the shit out of it..
    IMG_20160410_193108605_HDR.jpg frame for the basket...IMG_20160410_212408717_HDR.jpg
Cut out the cross pieces and beefed everything up with the frame then welded cross pieces back in...
IMG_20160411_163721417.jpg glad I took the time to do it, really liking how it turned out... The extra storage will be nice

Anyone familiar with front end swaps? I'm wanting to swap my 96 to 01-04. What I want to know is can you pull the radiator support without discharging the A/C? I want to use an 01-04 radiator support so the headlights and grille bolt right up. Tired of my current grille falling out all the time lol

    Your truck is a 96 with a 98-00 front?

Here is write up I kind of followed - it is from a 96 to a 01-04

    http://www.yotatech.com/f2/official-01-04-tacoma-clip-conversion-thread-163883/

But yes, you will have to discharge the a/c to change supports

I think I really am starting to like those headlights. I've seen em on a few tacos and some jeeps

Yes, it currently has a front end swap. I really didn't want to discharge the a/c... but I guess it's the right way to do it. How much trouble was it to discharge?

Yeah I don't know a way around it. Might be though :notsure: I didn't have to since I went from a 98-00 to the 01-04 and our supports are basically the same with exceptions of one grill hole.
Also with the swap - you still need to buy the fender/headlight brackets because the 01-04 headlights bolt to those and not the actual radiator support

I'm going to keep my fenders, don't feel like notching them for the cage and cutting them for tires again. Going to make the little bracket like he has in post #30 here

Yeah I kept my fenders just bought the bracket. I wish I could've made one of those but didn't have tools or material necessary for it. Would've saved me some money as well

Bought a bracket? Have a link? Some things I'd rather buy than make

    Reserected from the dead.

They fit just fine. This is a '98 fender with an '04 flair. There are no clips, the fender liner holds the flair in place.

Many hours at 80 mph and no issue.

Same here, just bolt up and go.

Mine are missing the rubber trim piece but they still lay flat against the fender
