Fair price for a '15 TRD Pro w/ blower?

I'm looking to upgrade from my trusty '01. There's a really tempting 2015 SBDC TRD Pro up for sale locally with a dealer-installed TRD supercharger, otherwise pretty stock, 12k miles, clean.

Any idea of what a fair price range would be on that for a private party sale?

I was sad to learn that Toyota had discontinued the dealer installed supercharger when I bought my used 2013 last year. I suppose I could go with the URD/Magnuson Toyota SC but still....

Thanks for the feedback so far, that's about where I was thinking it should be. I love the torque the sc puts out, especially compared to the new 3.5L.

 

What are they asking? You can inexpensively add the 2.85 pulley to the SC for a nice bump up in hp/torque over what it puts out stock.

 

They're asking in that range, I'll see how much wiggle room they have on the price.
How long have you had your SC and how do you like it? Any regrets?

 

I thought about trading my 2013 s/c'd sport the other day, 28k miles. dealer offered 23k. I loled.

 

If you get a manual, be prepared to change the clutch out for a heavier duty unit. Mine slips while towing a load. Good power otherwise.

 

Swoop that puppy up! The last of the low mileage 2nd gens are a dying breed.

 

I have the 2nd gen TRD supercharger in my '04, only had it for a couple weeks but I love it. Gas mileage isn't great obviously, but if you monitor the gauge and don't boost the hell out of it constantly, there isn't much of a noticeable decrease.

Just be prepared for slightly higher fuel costs (premium only), and a little more maintenance down the road when s/c starts to age.

One thing I'm curious about is how much it's going to affect the cost of general maintenance (tune-ups, mileage services, etc.) due to the service guys having to work around the s/c or remove it to perform said services. Haven't had to get any done yet but I hope it isn't going to bite me in the ass (wallet)...


The main thing that convinced me to go ahead with the s/c is that if I ever decide I want to go back to stock later on down the road, it shouldn't be hard at all to find someone who would be more than happy to swap out stock parts for a supercharger, lol.

 

@RyanL if you get one with out a blower, you will regret not getting one with it.

My only regret was not doing it sooner. Completely different truck after the supercharger and pulley swap. Very fun to drive. It can pull the tires free at freeway speeds in the rain running 32s. No comparison to stock.

The supercharger now costs about $6k.

The auto has no issues holding the extra power, unlike the manual.

Edit: I should add that is $6k for parts, looking at an additional $1k for install if you took it in.

 

regrets? Not really. It would be nice to be able to buy regular gas, but super isn't that expensive all things considered. It's all about the smiles per gallon anyways right?

 

I've got a 15 with a blower on it on the auto transmission. ZERO regrets. Put the 2.85 with an upgraded fuel pump on it. Huge upgrade right there. I liked the truck before. Love the truck now. Do it. You won't regret it man

Once you buy it you'll want more power. It's never enough!
