    I miss flying for fun. Don't get me wrong, getting paid to fly was always my dream. But flying for fun is one of the greatest freedoms we have in this country.

    Oh yeah, I really missed it when I was doing my instrument training. I didn't get to do any "fun" flights because if the weather was good enough, I was training.

    Tho I don't fly for a fee I completely see it.

    Even in my environment (which is great) commercial aviation is a different animal than recreational GA.

    Well enjoy the fun flying as long as you can!!

    I am currently sitting in a small office in St. Louis, MO drinking crappy coffee. I'm supposed to depart from here at 9pm-10pm Pacific time and fly to Oakland, CA which will put me on the ground 4.3 hours later. I started today at 10am Pacific time in Springfield, MO and I'll end at close to 2am Pacific. That's a long day with a lot of flying in the middle of the night. Yes, I enjoy what I do, but damn I wish I could just fly a small plane to somewhere fun for dinner.
