    Hmmm.

My Tacoma has the 265 x 65R x 17 tire set, and the manual says the proper inflation for on road use, front and rear, is 29 pounds.

I would have guessed it would have been five or six pounders higher...

What are you running your tires at, assuming the same size?

    Thanks!

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Most everyone here says follow the sticker if stock or chalk test since the stock specs won't work anymore.

That isn't going "against" Toyota, just using logic. A chalk test is going to tell you proper wear for a given tire, pressure, truck combo. If you think the manual, which is specific to how it came from the factory, is more accurate to a vehicle that has a different curb weight and different size/load range tires; then I'll say enjoy your new tires in a few thousand miles when you burn through them unevenly.

For OEM stock tires 29 might not be too far off. Toyota recommends 46 in load range D BFG ATs in 265/70/16. I have 65k on them right now and they will go another 5 easily. I ran 42 in my 265/75/16 Duratracs on my 2009.

So I adjustment my tires down to 30 psi, followed the directions to reset the TPMS, saw the indicator light flash three times...and I still have no pressure readings...
    A big "D'uh" for me. :(

You did drive it after adjusting and checked it while you were moving right? The tire readings don't pop up on the display until after you've driven it for a little bit, maybe 100 yards or so. At least that's when my readings show up.

I drove mine for 3 weeks new and finally checked. They were at 48lbs cold! I lowered to 31 and wow what a difference. Glad I checked finally :)

285/75R16 KO2s were installed at 42lbs. I never gave it a second thought, but having read a bit here I chalked them yesterday. Dropped to 30lbs. I think that may still be a bit heavy, but I ran out of time.

Anyone else here chalked this size tire? How many pounds are you running now?

Yes, yes I did, but who would have thought they would have been that high.
