Just scheduled an install for my CB radio. Having it done tomorrow morning.

I looked at doing it myself yesterday. Decided I didn't want to fight trying to get the Firestik Firering through the firewall. Jeez say that 5 times fast. Still not really sure how/where to mount the radio itself. Guess I'll chat with the installer when I drop off the truck and see what he thinks will work! That cubby behind the drink holders seems like a nice place but I'm concerned it would require disassembling the dash a bit and could get labor intensive.

Yes. Bought it used on eBay from a vendor that sells used police equipment. I had to get the keys directly from Santa Cruz though.

What CB are you having put in?? Most won't fit in that cubby, and there isn't much leeway in "making" it fit their either seeing some airbag system electronics are just under/behind that location.

Firewall is super easy to do. I'm guessing you are going with a hood hinge mount? Most people use the main grommet to run stuff but up a foot or so higher and a little to the left is a lone grommet that is super easy to run a cable through. It enters just straight behind the steering column and doesn't require you to drop the dash or anything. Would be a straight shot from there and over to the center console area if you choose to mount the CB there. I'm a smaller frame guy so I was able to lay down on the floor and route everything.

This is the grommet I'm referring to: (not my pic - from this thread - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/piece-by-piece-upgrade.311675/page-2)

It's been almost a month and I'm still without my Taco. I think I'm gunna go insane. Although I do like dads expedition, 4x4,Leather,V8, heated seats, all ththe goodies, but I can't use it like I can my truck. Dealership is slower than Christmas. But they're good guys.

I'm about to throw my computer against the wall. I've tried everything such as resetting my notification preferences and all, and I get alerts every time anyone does anything on this forum, to include making a new thread. It used to only alert me when someone replied to something I said, or quoted something...I liked it when it worked that way. Something has happened and now every time I get on here I have 200 something alerts!! Sorry, had to vent.

Yeah. For me, I can't see if someone asks me something about something I posted or if they reply to one of my questions because I can't scroll through 2,000 alerts to find it haha.

Picked up a 2015 Double Cab Tacoma last week and just got some suspension.

Not installed yet, still waiting on my wheels to arrive.

Don't know yet probably won't find out for a month or so up here. I am guessing it'll be ok, I couldn't slide it in so I had to come in from top. I'm more concerned with the dirt mud etc..
