LED Lightbar help.

Hey everyone looking for some help on a LED Light bar. I have a 07TRD sport and was looking at putting a light bar on the roof of my truck but not sure what size and if I should go with a curved on or not. Any help would be great, thanks

 

50" is the ideal size for second genners. And depends on what bar you want for curved/straight. Curved is the new thing. Just because a bar is curved doesn't mean it's gonna be better than a straight. But you do have more options with a 50". I personally suggest a curved in 3d. Like this one:

4d/5d will have pretty much NO flood/spread, but long distance spot. 3d has lots of useable light all around, but maybe not quite as much throw. But still great distance.

Another type to consider is the 10watt single row bars. Not much in terms of budget curved bars except the low quality ones. But the output is amazing with these. Like Baja designs or vision x. Baja designs has curved single rows that are amazing. Vision x has straight bars, with tilted reflectors. If you don't have a million bucks to spend, they do make clones of these for cheap on eBay.

 

OK just got my lightbar today and it only came with a foot of cord don't know what to exactly do about this my last light bar had like 4 foot. I am roof mounting this by the way and was gona run my cord down the edge of the windshield like I did on my last 1st Gen. Any ideas would be appreciatied

 

Make your own harness mang Just add some proper gauged wire and/or use a relay. Or you can buy a wire harness that comes with a fuse and relay and usually a switch already. But the switches are usually junk. Can put your own switch on it. Or wire it to your high beams if that's what you're doing...

So do you mean the connector is in the middle and can't be tucked in then?

 

Yes the connect will be in the middle of my windshield and can't really tuck it I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what u did

 

Actually yes I had the same issue. What you could do, is snip the connector off, add in the length you need, and use some butt connectors to reconnect. I actually drilled a hole in the rain gutter using a bit just smaller than the thick insulated wire coming from bar, squeezed the wire through, and used butt connectors to add in my own wire, and used a relay. Didn't even use the connector. But you could reconnect it. You could even take the connector wires out of the connector and only use one pair of butt connectors, instead of having to do it twice. But those wires can be a bitch to get out. Need a tiny flathead iirc. Here's my rain gutter method

 

You can look at my picture of my light bar. It's a 50 inch curved with magnifying lenses and full cree leds. My mounts are GG lighting mounts from California. I'm happy with it and absolutely love it.
