Looks like if you put the Hoodpin switch in the right spot it might work. How about where it goes in like couple inches to either side?

Not sure about that area. I was thinking under the actual door when you open it to keep it away from the elements! Something more like this ,

I want to put lights in the bed, glove box, center console, under hood, and rock lights that come on with the dome light. Only problem is I don't know the best way to go about wiring all of these things (shortest path, least amount of wire ect) haha. When I wired my ditch lights, I was lucky enough to be able to feed my power wire through the rubber molding along the backside of the hood which kept everything looking good. So when wiring my bed LED's would I have to drill holes in the bed to feed my wires so that they are not visible?

The plastic fits so close to the actual metal wall that there's not enough room for the pin to travel. Maybe it would work down toward the bottom, but I wouldn't sweat to it.

I found some Toyota logo projector lights on wish.com and installed this under the doors. They look sweet!!!

Brother when I started doing all this wiring last Fall I didn't know the first thing about any of it. Check my profile to see the list of mods I've did since then. I learned how to do each one by reading here on TW and an occasional video on YouTube. I did the under hood lights first, it's simple and helped build my confidence. This is my first new truck in 30 years, and I didn't want to screw anything up, so I just researched each mod to death until I understood everything. Also asked a lot of questions on here.

If I can do it, anyone can!

Like this idea, thought of doing the same. I'll probably wire it to my dome lights though. Very nicely done.

haha, Yeah man this is my first brand new truck so I know how you feel about not wanting to screw something up. I am extremely hesitant about drilling holes and cutting things haha. My Yakima roof rack uses the factory roof rack holes in the roof so I had to drill through the ditch rubber to get to the pre threaded holes in the roof and that made me sick. haha but I guess once it was done...it was worth it and looks awesome. But I still think about the fact of when I am ready to trade the truck in on another one...i'm either going to have to leave the roof rack on it when I sell it or take it off and try to silicone the holes up as best as I can. If it looks too bad I may even have to purchase new ditch rubbers at 168 dollars each and replace them. lol.

I drilled in the bottom of the door panel. After you remove the panel it's pretty clear where the light needs to go.

what year truck is this? mine is missing the whole panel behind the back seat because the original owner put subs in there and clearly never kept the molding ... what a idiot now I am wanting to find one to put back in there.

Nice idea! Never saw the back panels out before....has anyone ever tried adding sound deadening material to the back wall to see if it is worth the effort. Seems like it would work better than the funky pads they have stuck to the back of the bins.

I've seen several folks on here do that, I probably should have did it while I had everything removed. Oh well, another project for a rainy day.

What is supposed to go back in this spot?
Just got my 2011, and it looks like it's built for something that was missing in mine?

    Thanks.
