... So I'm getting married in 3 weeks, and am trying to plan out the last details. Is it customary for the groom to dance with his mother as it is for a bride to dance with her father?

Yes, get out in front of it and pick the song before your mom has at it. If my mom had her way, we would have danced to an Adelle song...

Hey guys, might be the wrong thread for this but any of you ever get a dealership say they don't negotiate on their used car prices? I'm kinda calling BS on this, but I was looking at a used TRD OR 2016 that looked like an amazing deal, but they didn't want to play ball. Any thoughts here?

My thought is, if their price is too high and they won't negotiate, walk away. If it's a good price, then maybe they won't come off it. I've come across that before where I shopped around a lot, found a smoking deal and the dealer wouldn't budge (likely because they couldn't). Sometimes dealers use leader ads, they have one vehicle on the lot that's a really, really good deal, just to get people in the door. They lose money on the deal but plan on having people stop buy and up sell them.

    Walk away...
I have 2 brother in laws that sell new cars and a cousin that owns a used car dealership. Car prices are negotiable plain and simple. They'll tell you they are loosing money but it's all a ploy to get the most they can. Dealers will run the car to the auction if it'll be a loss. That way they don't have to warranty the car due to a pain in the ass owner.

I stopped by Harr a few years back when I was shopping around. They were running their "perfect pricing" where the sticker price was it.. No negotiations. They didn't have any used stock with good frames so I left before had a chance to try and negotiate.

A lot of dealerships are going to single prices now on new and used vehicles, and are strict about not negotiating. I know the whole gallery group is single price on use cars, and so are some chambers stores. It's going to become increasingly more common as dealerships evolve

I agree, except all they did is shift the negotiation part to financing terms and trade in values.

Yup, Saturn did this right off or shortly after with their dealers.."no-haggle" pricing.

Those have always been negotiable though
Slightly different. The manufacturer still had a suggested retail price, and the more progressive dealers are taking incentives etc and advertising a sale price on the new vehicles that they don't negotiate from.

A dealership who is worth a damn should be adopting this model in some way shape or form. Market based pricing is the only way to get your cars visibility in an efficient market. If they don't price their cars competitively, you probably wouldn't click on them. Or the cars probably wouldn't even make it into a search

image.jpgHey guys, I'm a "product consultant" for Cernak Buick in Easthampton, MA. I just got in trade a 2003 1st gen Tacoma V6 SR5 4x4 xtra cab with 159k miles. Looks like it got a new frame at some point in its life. Due to the mileage we will not be retailing the vehicle and it will be sent to auction. However, I have 1 week from tomorrow to sell this truck if anyone is interested! $7985 takes it and financing is available. If interested DM me or call me at (413) 527 - 1134 and ask for Nick in the sales dept.

Wow. That's a nice looking rig. Makes me wish I was in the market, lol.

    Too many vehicles already, though.
