    Dynatrac Rear End Upgrade

This story starts back around January 2017 or so if I recall correctly. A friend of mine tagged me in a post on Instagram about a giveaway from Dynatrac for a ProRock 60 Tacoma Builder's Kit Axle... I went ahead and entered because why not.

Fast forward to May 11... I get this email...

So the past couple of weeks have been some back and forth emailing with Dynatrac and the Marketing people for them to figure everything out and so forth along with talking to a few people on the best route to go with this in the long run...

Fast forward to May 31st... Order placed today with Dynatrac for the other components of this setup and for them to set it up for me.

September 14, 2017 Update - Still about 3 weeks out before shipment to me on this...

First thing was to switch to LEDs in most of the lights. Did red for the Map Lights and White for the Dome Light. Switched out the Amber Side Markers, Third Brake Light, and License Plate Lights.

Installed a TacoDane LED Hood Kit

Installed the Fuse Panel Bracket, a Blue Sea 12 Fuse Panel, and a 100amp Circuit Breaker

Bought a pair of Cali Raised Ditch Light Brackets and 3x2 CREE Pods

    Couple things done today.

Blue Ridge Overland Gear Backseat Molle Panel
I currently have a Med Kit, Leatherman multitool, Kershaw knife, Surefire Flashlight, Paracord, also have some glowsticks and emergency blankets in there as well.

Then went to the Army Navy store and then Lowes to build this. How-To is here...
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mount-ammo-can-to-bed-rails-how-to.420182/

Lastly I took some vinyl tint to the third brake light, like the look of it pretty well, not too dark.

Ordered a IggyCorp Switch panel yesterday from the group buy. Now to just wait on that to install the OTRATTW switches I have.

Ordered a Mobtown Offroad Ribbed Tailgate Skin with the free cap about 5 minutes ago.

Thinking I may wire up some LED strips to both sides of the truck and wire them to both a switch and to the dome light so I can have them turn on when I unlock the truck or turn them on all the time when needed.

Also have planned out my lift with the following more than likely.
ICON Coils for the front w/o resi with 700lb coils
OME Dakar Leaf packs with Bilstein extended length 5100s

Goal is more than likely to have a 2-2.5" lift running 33s or 32s on 16" wheels.

Just purchased a Midland 1001LWX, 2FT Firestick, Heavy Duty Spring and a Firestick Firering from Amazon for $48.00. Got to love Amazon Gift cards for doing webinars for companies trying to sell you something...

Went with the Midland as I wanted something compact to mount in the center console that also had NOAA WX Bands on it, thought about doing the Cobra 75, but wanted something bigger than it.

Will be having a 32" Cali Raised 4D Lightbar on the way from JadedTaco soon. Going to be mounting it in the front bumper... so between this, the ditch lights, and the 30" Heretic on the Prinsu Rack I think I will be set on lighting for a while...

Took the truck to the dealership this morning to have them fix the blower motor resistor so I can use my AC without it only on Hi. Also had them check the transmission fluid level and it ended up being low in the truck so they got it to the correct level. Hopefully this helps the sluggishness of the truck and maybe help to improve the MPG on it some.

Have a big weekend ahead to finish out the CB install, maybe install the 30" Cali Raised 4D lightbar in the front bumper and who knows what else...

A ton more done over this weekend.

First I built a antenna mount for the 2ft Firestick I have to mount it on the CaliRaised Ditch Light Bracket. Holds really well and sturdy. Paired it with a Firering and a Heavy Duty Spring.

Then changed where my CB is mounted and put it in the center console and wired it up. Need to run the Coax and get a right angle coax connector for it to finish it out.

Then went and installed the 30" Cali Raised 4D Lightbar behind the grill, waiting on the wiring harness for it to finish it out. Need to figure something out with the license plate though so half of the lightbar is not blocked.

Then painted the center console flat black to try and get rid of the silver that is in there. Still need to do the areas around the vents and a couple other places.
Also, mocked up the Iggy switch panel and the three OTRATTW Switches I have. Going to wait until I get in the Heretic Lightbar for the roof to actually wiring them all up and everything.

Ran out of time to do the Rear diff breather mod, but I have all the parts for it and may do that this week.

Got the Prinsu Design Studio CabRac installed over the weekend. Waiting on the 30" Heretic to show up to finish out the roof rack setup. It currently has a cutout for a 40" lightbar which was sent on accident, but Zach at Prinsu is the man and is sending the correct size cutout as for me.

Nice new additions. How did you make the extension for your antenna? Do you think it would hold a 3ft Firestik?

    Thanks!

For the extension for the antenna I just used a piece of bar aluminum that I got at Lowes, cut it down and rounded the ends and did it that way. It holds the 2ft Firestick very well and not a lot of vibrations going on, it could just as easily hold a 3ft Firestick, I just went with a 2ft so I could still drive under the carport easily. I only use the CB for trail coms and nothing else, so the 2ft works well for me.

Right on, I've thought about goin 2ft so I can drive into my garage without taking the dang antenna off every time. I only use mine for trail coms as well.

It works well for the purpose, I may be getting a bed rack and if I do I may be mounting the antenna to the bed rack and will have it up a little higher for maybe some better reception. But I doubt it as I really want to do a lift and new tires before the Toyota Jamboree in May.
