    Hey everybody!!!!!

What do you guys think about having a truck contest of sorts??? (any Toyota can participate)

A 1st, 2nd and 3rd kind of thing. Each truck will be designated a number (you can't vote for yourself!!! :p) and a ticket. The number that your truck is designated will be the number on your ticket.

You have to write the number of the truck you like the most (again, not your own :p) on your ticket and then we'll put the tickets in one box a short while after everybody is done voting so we can count the number of votes for each truck.

What do you guys think? :)

Ooh what do you guys think of working on a different parking arrangement once we're on the beach?
Last year we just parked in one huge line, which made for a cool sight, but it kind of took away from the community feeling the previous meets had since everybody was so far spread out.

Any suggestions? I know there aren't many parking arrangements that would work to that advantage but any input would be awesome!!! A huge circle with the trucks facing outward? 4x4s in the loose sand and the 2wds in the packed sand?

    ???

    :p

Tbh theres no way (that many) pre-runners can get passed to access 6.. The sand is just way too thick throughout. Itll be a hassle having to pull someone out every so often. We can do it like always at access 5. get our spot and THEN for all those who decide to cruise to access 6 have them let the group know in advance and we'll throw junk (bbq pit, chairs, stick a shovel in the ground, etc...) in their empty spot until they return so random people wont pull up and jam corridos and people loud lol. Or we could have when they leave a few of us park parallel so the spots wont get taken either.
Ps: A HUGE CIRCLE on access 5 would be GENIUS!!! Thats the best idea so far lol. 4x4 up top, pre's on the tight sand. It can finally be a legit meet and we wont be spread out so damn far and have to walk around, we could all just set up in the middle and meet everyone, have bbq bits, tents, chairs etcc together instead of seperated. I think thats bingo!

I guess it just depends on the beach conditions then? Sometimes the sand is well packed, other times it's just horrible. :p

That's exactly what I had in mind with the parking in a circle! :D

Honestly, I like what has always been done, we drive onto access 5 and parade up to 6 and past. I'd really like to pass 6 at least a few miles up to get away from the crowd as much as possible for those of us with kids to play safely. I'm on the beach almost every weekend in Summer and RARELY have to engage 4 wheel drive. I don't think it'll be that much of a problem at all for the pre-runners and besides leave no man behind. I'll gladly pull out any stuck people. After all, it's what we're there for.

I was thinking of one of the areas like this a little past the end of hwy 100 where we would all fit in a circle and the sand is fairly hard

i vote for the mentioned above....Go in through access 5, parade past access 6 just cause we cool like that and go a good ways north past the crowds and do as @ink junky says and park in a big circle or something. And for the prerunners, just air down your tires, 20-25lbs does magic on the sand and you can still drive to the nearest gas station and air up again. Even better if you air down less but even then I rarely have to engage 4x4 with 20lbs plus pulling people out is always fun.

    I don't know anymore!
There is a convention in Corpus mid week I'll be attending for work. I'm only attending for one day. I'll fish the surf and likely camp on the beach a couple days. As far as a guide is concerned, catching a limit of large trout sounds like a helluva day!

Picked up this bad boy little trailer on Friday and used it Saturday at the island. I got an incredible deal on it. Needless to say I'm in love with it and ready for the meet in July!!!

    It's the little things.
Dirtbikes aren't allowed to my knowledge. If you've got a street legal one that'll fly though!

And parking in a circle sounds awesome, we'll have plenty of options a couple miles past access 6. 2wds will have no problem out there at all, I'd even suggest not airing down right away. Minivans go out there daily :)
The daily tides give the late mornings perfect driving conditions, only time there is an exception is when a storm is rolling in.
